Corporate culture - the foundation for BSR's sustainable development

In the context that the petrochemical industry is facing many challenges of the energy transition, international integration and digital transformation, the Party Committee of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company (BSR) identified building and spreading corporate culture as one of the fundamental and long-term solutions to promote internal strength, create combined strength, and contribute to realizing the goal of sustainable development by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Implementing the Resolution of the 6th BSR Party Congress, term 2020-2025, the Company's Party Committee issued Resolution No. 100-NQ/DU dated June 22, 2020 on strengthening the building and promoting the role of corporate culture, and at the same time directed the development and implementation of Action Plan No. 444-KH/DU to specify synchronous implementation solutions from the Party Committee to each Party cell, union, department/office and workshop.

In which, corporate culture is identified not only as a soft spiritual factor but also as an important, consistent, regular political foundation and task, closely linked to political and ideologicaleducation , team building and innovation in leadership and corporate governance methods.

From 2020 to present, 100% of subordinate Party cells have integrated the content of building corporate culture into regular activities; political theory training classes for new Party members, Party sympathy classes, and training classes for potential cadres for Party committees at all levels have all included corporate culture content in the curriculum.

Under the direction of the BSR Party Committee, in 2021, the Company's Board of Directors reviewed, adjusted and officially announced the Core Values ​​of BSR culture, including 5 contents: "Integrity - Professionalism - Solidarity - Creativity - Efficiency", which were widely communicated to more than 1,500 employees through the following forms: internal video clips, handbooks, E-learning training systems, seminars, workshops, competitions, visuals by billboards and posters in working areas and public areas throughout the Company.

In 2023 alone, BSR organized 2 training courses on corporate culture, 4 seminars on professional ethics and distributed more than 1,200 corporate culture handbooks to employees. Outstanding programs such as: "BSR Culture Festival", held annually from 2019 to present, attract more than 1,000 participants each year. Movements: "Leadership perspective", "Good people - good deeds", "Kind BSR people" ... have become positive, healthy playgrounds with profound educational meaning.

Culture of innovation and digital transformation

Implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution No. 951-NQ/DU of the Petrovietnam Party Committee on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation, creating new momentum, improving labor productivity and competitiveness, the BSR Party Committee has directed the association of corporate culture with research activities, science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation. Thanks to that, science and technology and innovation activities have achieved outstanding achievements, bringing more than VND 8,300 billion in profit to the Company and successfully developing 10 new products, including: 3 defense fuels, 6 types of PP resins and 1 sustainable aviation fuel product (SAF). BSR is also honored to be in the Top 10 Innovative and Effective Enterprises in 2025 announced by the Finance - Investment Newspaper (Ministry of Finance).

Science, technology and innovation activities at BSR have achieved many outstanding achievements, contributing to improving production and business efficiency and enterprise competitiveness.

BSR is one of the leading units of Petrovietnam in terms of initiatives in the programs "75 thousand initiatives to overcome difficulties and develop" and "1 million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic" launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. In the period of 2020-2025, BSR recorded more than 2,100 technical innovation initiatives and scientific research topics. Among them, there are two typical "innovation trees" honored nationwide. In particular, a cluster of works was awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology in 2023. BSR has built the scientific research movement and creative initiatives into corporate culture through methodical organization, regular maintenance and continuous encouragement and motivation of employees to actively participate.

In parallel, the Company's Party Committee directed the implementation of an online training center (E-learning) with over 70 courses related to work skills, corporate culture and lean management. From 2021 to present, more than 10,000 employees have participated in online training.

The “May Dialogue” program is held annually, with the participation of the company's Board of Directors, leaders of functional departments and more than 200 employee representatives each session, aiming at open and democratic dialogue, enhancing cohesion and listening directly to the voices of employees.

Community responsibility - BSR's cultural beauty

A characteristic of BSR culture is social and community responsibility. Under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, since 2010, the Company has implemented nearly 350 social security programs, with a total budget of more than 470 billion VND, focusing on the fields of health and education; building solidarity houses; supporting poor but studious students; improving rural health; preventing natural disasters and building new rural areas in Quang Ngai and other localities in the Central region.

Over the years, BSR has regularly implemented social security programs and sponsored areas such as education, healthcare, etc., demonstrating its responsibility and commitment to accompany the development of the community.

The model of "BSR Live Blood Bank" with nearly 500 volunteer staff registered on duty, has promptly provided emergency support for hundreds of critically ill patients at Quang Ngai General Hospital.

In addition, BSR is also one of the pioneers in applying ISO 14001:2015 standards on environmental management, continuously achieving high results in assessments by competent authorities on air quality, wastewater, and solid waste. The emulation movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe - Effective" is maintained regularly in 100% of production workshops and office areas. BSR is also honored to be announced by the Finance - Investment Newspaper (Ministry of Finance) as one of the Top 10 Green Vietnam ESG Enterprises 2025 - Energy - Oil and Gas industry.
