On the morning of May 29, comrade Lo Van Viet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanh Dich commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province, said that a flash flood had just occurred in the area, causing great damage to people's property.

Accordingly, in the afternoon and evening of May 28, heavy rains occurred in Hanh Dich commune, causing water levels in some rivers and streams to rise. In light of the current situation, local authorities and armed forces have mobilized people in some vulnerable areas to proactively evacuate to safety.

Due to heavy rain, at about 9:00 p.m. the same day, a sudden flood occurred in Long Thang village cluster, Hanh Dich commune. Flash floods. The amount of water and rocks from upstream of Pung stream caused damage to houses, crops and many properties of the people. Fortunately, due to proactive response, there were no human casualties.

On the morning of May 29, the People's Committee of Que Phong district set up a working group to go to Long Thang village to encourage and visit people, count the damage, and deploy remedial measures.
