According to the data of students registering for their first choice for grade 10 public schools that the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has just announced, candidates will know the competition rate for grade 10 at each school, and from there consider adjusting their wishes.
Students will have a round of adjusting their 10th grade admission wishes from today until 5:00 p.m. on May 19 at the latest.

Notably, this year, two high schools with high admission scores, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School and Gia Dinh High School, are not on the list of 20 schools with high competition rates. Meanwhile, schools in the suburbs such as Vinh Loc High School (Binh Chanh District) and Pham Van Sang High School (Hoc Mon District) have high competition rates.
In addition, there are 44 high schools with a competition ratio of less than 1, meaning that the number of enrollment targets is greater than the number of registered wishes. This opens up a higher chance of admission for candidates.

This year, Ho Chi Minh City has more than 88,000 students graduating from grade 9, while the quota for grade 10 in public schools is more than 70,000 students. With the above quota, the rate of junior high school graduates entering grade 10 in public schools is nearly 80%, an increase of 14% compared to last year.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 6 and 7. Candidates will take three compulsory subjects: Literature, Math and Foreign Language. Candidates taking the specialized exam will take an additional specialized subject.
