At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee Nguyen Phuc Quang said that in the first months of 2025, the district's production value is estimated at VND 23,230 billion (at 2010 fixed prices), completing 49.35% of the yearly plan and increasing by 14.52% over the same period in 2024. The sectors of Agriculture, Industry - Construction and Trade - Services all achieved good growth, contributing to the economic structure shifting in the right direction.

Accordingly, Chau Thanh district also achieved many positive results in other areas such as budget revenue and expenditure (on schedule, increasing compared to the same period), business development (31 new businesses established), granting land use right certificates, resolving environmental records, job creation (introducing jobs for 670 workers), reducing the poverty rate to 1.18%. The fields of culture, education, health, national defense and security were also maintained and developed, with 100% of communes meeting national criteria on health, 42/59 schools meeting national standards (rate of 71.2%), completing 100% of military recruitment targets, security and order were maintained (reducing the number of criminal cases).

Leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade answered some difficulties.

In addition to the achieved results, the locality also pointed out some difficulties and problems such as the fragmented conversion of crop structure in agriculture, complicated developments of animal diseases, difficulties in exporting fruits and vegetables due to inspection requirements from markets and the health sector facing limitations in health insurance payments.

At the meeting, leaders of departments and branches of Tien Giang province and Chau Thanh district together recognized and objectively assessed the actual situation, thereby agreeing on key tasks and solutions to overcome difficulties and challenges, striving to achieve the highest socio-economic development and public investment goals in 2025.

At the conference, Mr. Tran Van Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee, praised Chau Thanh district's efforts in basically completing the work of arranging and merging administrative units at the commune and ward levels according to the direction of the Central Government. At the same time, he emphasized the key task of urgently organizing and arranging the apparatus, cadres, civil servants and employees of the new administrative units, according to the principle of prioritizing resources for the commune level to improve the effectiveness of administrative reform, be close to the people and promptly resolve people's problems. Regarding economic growth, Mr. Tran Van Dung acknowledged that the locality has focused on implementing the resolutions and directions of the Central Government, especially Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development and digital transformation...
