Journalist Do Quang Tuan Hoang launches publication "Vietnam - Dress leisurely"

Following publications that deeply explore Vietnamese culture such as: Following the lover's footprints , Across the clouds , Across the tea road , Going all the way to joy ..., journalist Do Quang Tuan Hoang has just introduced to readers the publication Vietnam - Dress leisurely .

The book is a collection of articles introducing the extremely unique characteristics in the dress culture of Vietnamese ethnic groups, especially the indigenous culture vividly expressed in special patterns, accessories, traditional costumes, or how to create unique materials such as silk, lotus silk, cotton, linen, banana fiber, etc.

The publication "Vietnam - Casual Dress" is currently being translated into Chinese by Chibooks.

The author also devoted many pages to writing about the people who have worked hard to revive traditional costumes, traditional materials, traditional garment villages... making them come back to life in modern life.

According to author Do Quang Tuan Hoang, Vietnam has 54 ethnic groups with more than 100 groups and branches. Residing in diverse ecological environments has given rise to unique indigenous knowledge in each ethnic group. The indigenous culture of a community is most vividly expressed in weaving, embroidery, and painting patterns on costumes. It can be said that, along with cuisine , costumes are one of the factors that most clearly express the material and spiritual life of a nation, ethnic group, and individual. Behind fabrics, costumes, and jewelry is a fascinating history of humanity.

“I am very passionate about researching costumes and jewelry, especially in terms of anthropology and slow fashion trends. During my travels across Vietnam to write this book, I was delighted to find people with similar interests that readers will meet in the pages of the book. Not only do they preserve traditional costumes, they also preserve and adapt them by using the patterns on traditional costumes to incorporate into modern fashion,” author Do Quang Tuan Hoang shared.
