This demonstrates the role and prestige of the Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society – the "Red House" – in connecting the community to carry out social welfare work with the goal of spreading love to those in difficult circumstances.
Connecting and spreading love
In 2025, the Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society will continue to effectively implement its key tasks, including mobilizing officials, members, volunteers, and the public to participate in humanitarian assistance, community-based healthcare, and blood donation.
Specifically, in 2025, Dong Nai province received over 51,000 units of voluntarily donated blood. Besides the large number of people participating in blood donation, the voluntary blood donation work in Dong Nai also has many outstanding points such as: the rate of repeat blood donors (those who continue to donate voluntarily after their first donation) reached 85%, ranking among the top in the country. Voluntary blood donation drives were coordinated and organized at religious institutions. Religious leaders, officials, and clergy not only donated blood but also encouraged their followers to participate, organizing light meals and gifts to motivate voluntary blood donors. Along with mobile blood donation drives, the province established a fixed voluntary blood donation point at Dong Nai General Hospital so that people could donate blood at any time.
The province currently has 120,200 members of Red Cross societies at all levels. The total value of humanitarian assistance activities, disaster prevention and response, and public health care carried out by the entire provincial Red Cross system in 2025 is over 197.2 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong (residing in Xuan Dinh commune) recently made his 50th voluntary blood donation. Mr. Phong said: "Every year, I donate blood voluntarily 3-4 times. My wish is to have good health so that I can participate in blood donation drives organized by the Provincial Red Cross Society to save lives."
Regarding the mobilization of resources for humanitarian aid, the Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society aims to raise over 123 billion VND in 2025. During the implementation of humanitarian models, the Red Cross Society has flexibly adjusted its approach to suit local conditions and meet the needs of the people. For example, during the implementation of the Cattle Bank Project, for families who no longer have access to feed for cattle or grazing land, the society will switch to raising other livestock that the family desires, depending on the circumstances.
At the same time, the Provincial Red Cross Society connects resources to provide monthly assistance to more than 11,000 particularly disadvantaged families, with each family receiving 500,000 VND or more. In addition, during the period when these cases require further assistance, Red Cross societies at all levels in the province will provide additional support such as scholarships and medical treatment funds. Through the "Soup and Meal of Compassion" model, the Provincial Red Cross Society arranges nearly 367,000 meals annually to support patients, their relatives, self-employed workers, and students in difficult circumstances.
The Provincial Red Cross Society also acts on behalf of the people of Dong Nai to spread humanitarian resources to people across the country. From October 2025 to the present, the Provincial Red Cross Society has mobilized and received support from all sectors of society to assist people affected by natural disasters with a value of over 12.5 billion VND and allocated resources to support provinces affected by natural disasters in implementing social welfare programs launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Society.
Proactively carry out humanitarian work.
For the remainder of 2025 and throughout 2026, the Provincial Red Cross Society will continue to propose solutions to effectively implement humanitarian work in the province.

According to the Vice President of the Provincial Red Cross Society, Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh, during the 2026 Lunar New Year, along with the rest of the province, the Provincial Red Cross Society has been mobilizing resources to care for the people during the holiday. In addition, the Provincial Red Cross Society has been leveraging technology to carry out humanitarian work. Specifically, through the Charity app operated by the society, which serves the work of mobilizing, managing, and reporting on the use of voluntary contributions for humanitarian activities, 75 disadvantaged individuals have initially received support totaling approximately 339 million VND. Furthermore, information about blood donation; receiving and distributing contributions is publicly available on the society's information pages for people to directly monitor, thereby building trust among the people.
In addition, Red Cross branches at all levels in the province focus on disseminating knowledge and skills on disaster prevention and response to 1,800 members of 146 disaster response teams and 60 Red Cross first aid stations. This is because when people in residential areas suffer accidents or injuries, these are the fastest access points to provide first aid and call ambulances to transport them to the hospital.
In addition, Red Cross chapters at all levels are stepping up efforts to encourage voluntary blood donation and the donation of tissues, organs, and body parts.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh, in 2025, Red Cross branches at all levels in the province mobilized 95 people to register as volunteers to donate tissues and organs to medical science after death. In addition to mobilization efforts, Red Cross branches at all levels in the province will pay special attention to commending those who successfully registered to donate tissues, organs, and body parts through solemn ceremonies, awarding them with certificates and gifts.
Given the local characteristics of having many residential areas located on hydroelectric reservoirs, along rivers, and in border regions, and with many families facing difficult circumstances, the Red Cross branches at all levels in the province will focus on mobilizing resources to support people in repairing their houses, donating solar energy equipment, and assisting students in the area to attend school with peace of mind.
Simultaneously, strengthening and consolidating the Red Cross organizations at all levels in the province is a crucial factor in achieving the set goals. Following the merger of administrative boundaries and the two-tiered local government structure, the Red Cross organizations at the commune, ward, agency, unit, and school levels are gradually being recognized with provisional executive committees and need to be quickly consolidated to stabilize their structure. This is to ensure that all humanitarian activities are carried out smoothly.
