Factory X46 celebrates its traditional day and receives the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal

Attending the ceremony were delegates, representatives of local authorities; representatives of armed forces in the area; representatives of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense ; representatives of functional agencies of the Navy; former comrades who were heads of the Navy Technical Department and officers and employees of Factory X46 through the periods.

To prepare for the establishment of the Coastal Defense Department, on April 26, 1955, the Ministry of National Defense issued a decision to establish a Ship Repair Workshop (codenamed C46). Workshop 46 is responsible for building and repairing ships and technical equipment for units operating on rivers and seas.

In the early days of its establishment, despite facing numerous difficulties and hardships, and having very limited facilities, Workshop 46 completed the repair of captured French ships and built 20 new wooden canoes, preparing to establish two fleets, Song Lo and Bach Dang. In 1958, President Ho Chi Minh awarded the First Class Military Exploit Medal to the collective of Workshop 46 for this achievement...

On April 17, 1993, Workshop 46 was renamed Factory X46, under the Naval Engineering Department (now the Naval Logistics-Engineering Department). According to the planning to become a shipbuilding and repair center in the Northern region, the Factory was invested in many new and modern equipment by the Navy. The technological capacity of the Factory has been gradually improved. The Factory is capable of major repairs and conversions of torpedo boats and Coast Guard ships; building new patrol boats combined with offshore fishing, military transport ships with a tonnage of up to 600T, high-speed patrol boats TT200 for the Vietnam Coast Guard... The Factory's products are highly appreciated by customers for their quality, aesthetics, and ensuring progress to meet the requirements...

At the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Tra, Political Commissar of Factory X46, read the Letter of Commendation from the Head of the Ministry of National Defense on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the tradition.

Authorized by the President, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem awarded Factory X46 the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem acknowledged and commended the achievements of Factory X46 over the past 70 years and requested the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the Factory to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement directives and resolutions of superiors, especially the Resolution of the Central Military Commission and the Party Committee of the Navy on leading technical work until 2030 and the following years. The Factory focuses on synchronously and comprehensively implementing all aspects of work, ensuring good techniques, ensuring the equipment of ships and technical equipment, promptly serving the tasks; promoting existing capacity for production and economic activities; actively and proactively finding and creating jobs to improve the lives of defense officers, workers and employees; encouraging officers and employees to actively research science and technology, promote initiatives, improve techniques, and effectively apply them in practice...

Authorized by the Chief of the Navy Command, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tra awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives, individuals and businesses with good achievements in building the monument "Uncle Ho visits Workshop 46".

On the same morning, Factory X46 held the inauguration ceremony of the monument "Uncle Ho visits Factory 46" - one of the projects to welcome party congresses at all levels and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Factory's founding.

Factory X46 was awarded by the Party and State: The title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the resistance war against the US, saving the country; Second-class Military Exploit Medal; 4 First-class Military Exploit Medals; 4 Second-class Military Exploit Medals; 2 Third-class Labor Medals; 3 Fatherland Protection Medals, along with many other noble awards.
