Shi Li Liang was born in 1976. Before becoming a monk, he was known as Wu Xiaoliang. His hometown was Hubei Province, central China. Having been fascinated with martial arts since childhood, at the age of 20, he went to the Southern Shaolin Temple in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, which is considered the cradle of martial arts in southern China.

He shaved his head and became a monk after working as a temple guard for a year. Every day, Thich Ly Luong wakes up at 4:30 a.m. and goes to bed at 10 p.m., spending most of his time practicing martial arts, reading books, and practicing calligraphy.

Thich Ly Luong was very interested in lightness skill, so he started running with weights in 2006. In 2009, he placed sedge mats and wooden boards on the water surface to take on the challenge of running a distance of 15 meters.

The Shaolin monk continued to practice and gradually improved his achievements to 28 meters in 2010, 100 meters in 2013 and 125 meters in September 2015. In addition to "Thuy Thuong Phieu", he also practiced many other Shaolin moves such as "Nhat Chi Thien" (planting a banana tree with one finger) and "Phi Tuong Tau Bich" (walking on the wall).

The Southern Shaolin Temple was founded during the Tang Dynasty and flourished during the Song Dynasty. The monks here often challenged themselves with difficult tasks that required years of training.

The Southern Shaolin monks believe that human power lies in the mind and has no limits once trained.
