Contribute by doing specific things
The wide and clean asphalt road connecting Bich Tay village to Hoang Xa village, Tran Phu commune (Nam Sach) not only changes the appearance of the countryside but also demonstrates the consensus of the people here. In particular, there is a significant contribution from Mr. Nguyen Viet Hoi, Deputy Head of Bich Tay village.
Compared to the general level of Nam Sach district, the economic conditions in Bich Tay village are still difficult. The roads in the village have been solidified for a long time, so most of them are narrow. Faced with this situation, the local government launched a movement to mobilize people to donate land to widen the roads.
Seeing that the policy was correct and beneficial to the people, Mr. Hoi's family voluntarily donated nearly 20 square meters of residential land and dismantled the surrounding wall and part of the auxiliary works to expand the main road of the village.
"At that time, land prices in the area were high, so many households did not agree to donate land. However, when the road was expanded, the people would be the ones who would benefit. Therefore, when we learned about this policy, everyone in my family was excited and agreed to support it," said Mr. Hoi.
His actions not only contributed to speeding up the construction progress but also created a strong ripple effect in the community. From that specific and practical action, the land donation movement in Bich Tay village spread strongly. More than 550 m² of residential land and 679 m² of construction, more than 75 working days were voluntarily contributed by the people.
In 2 years, nearly 2 km of new asphalt road was completed with a road surface of 7 - 9 m wide, with a total cost of nearly 7 billion VND. The road changed the appearance of the Bich Tay countryside and created conditions for local economic development.
Dedicated, responsible

During the 2024 - 2027 term, Mr. Hoi also actively mobilized people to participate in collecting, classifying, and treating household waste at the source.
When it first started, the movement encountered many difficulties. Mr. Hoi and the village cadres "went to every alley, knocked on every door, checked every household" to propagate and guide people to classify and treat organic waste right at home. Thanks to perseverance, responsibility and close-to-the-people approach, up to now, 100% of households in Tran Phu commune have classified household waste at source. Of which, over 30% of households self-treat organic waste at home. The commune's model is considered typical by the district, and many localities in and outside the province have come to visit and learn.
Along with economic development and environmental protection, Mr. Hoi also actively builds the great solidarity bloc between Catholics and non-Catholics in Bich Tay village.
With a community of Catholics, Mr. Hoi regularly mobilizes people to unite, help each other develop production, reduce poverty, and participate in movements launched by the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front such as the Fund "For the Poor", "Repaying Gratitude", Covid-19 Prevention... with a total donation of over 200 million VND.
In particular, he promoted and maintained the model of “Self-governing Parishes in terms of security and order” in coordination with the police force in crime prevention and maintaining social order and safety. Mr. Hoi also actively propagated and raised awareness among Catholics about vigilance against false and distorted arguments of hostile forces that took advantage of religion to divide the great national unity bloc.
With his tireless contributions for many years, Mr. Hoi has been evaluated by the village as having fulfilled his duties well; his family has been recognized with the cultural title for 5 consecutive years. Recently, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Fatherland Front of Hai Duong province for his outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement, living a good life, and upholding religion among Catholics in Hai Duong province in the period of 2020 - 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Nghi, Party Cell Secretary and Head of Bich Tay Village, said: Mr. Nguyen Viet Hoi is a typical example, contributing to creating positive and profound changes in the life of the community. In any local movement, he actively participates and responds. With the spirit of "respecting God and loving the country", Mr. Hoi becomes a trustworthy bridge between the parishioners and the government, taking the lead in patriotic emulation movements, especially donating land for road construction and environmental protection.
