On June 5, the Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ) issued four official dispatches suspending the circulation and recalling many batches of cosmetics nationwide that violated regulations. The products were found to not meet quality standards or have misleading labels, seriously violating regulations on consumer safety.
Of which, a batch of Keratin Conditioner with a capacity of 800 ml, batch number 230225, manufactured on February 23, 2025 and expired on February 23, 2028, was suspended due to not meeting the microbial limit. The product was manufactured and distributed by Hong Dat Cosmetics Co., Ltd. ( Hai Duong ).
The remaining three products are brought to market by Shynh Beauty Company Limited ( Ho Chi Minh City), including:
- Shin Nee Premium Cleansing Foam (lot number 24I0302, expiry date 09/02/2027) is recalled because the circulating formula does not match the declared profile. The product is manufactured by Hanacos Co., Ltd (Korea).
- Super Shine Biocell Mask was recalled because the product label contained misleading information about a drug, which could lead to misuse by users. The product was manufactured by HNB Cosmetics Joint Stock Company (Long An).
- S-White Coconut & Rice Milk Bath Salt (batch number DE024, manufacturing date 04/09/2025, expiry date 04/09/2027) also violates the same rules, manufactured by Neidi Viet Thai Pharmaceutical - Cosmetic Company Limited (Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to experts, products labeled as “drugs” can cause users to skip necessary medical treatments, leading to serious consequences. In addition, cosmetics with incorrect formulas are at risk of containing unsafe ingredients that can easily cause irritation, allergies or skin damage if used for a long time.
Violations of microbial limits are considered particularly dangerous. Bacteria and mold residues in the product can penetrate the skin, causing infection or immune disorders - especially in people with sensitive skin or weakened immune systems.
Counterfeit or low-quality cosmetics, functional foods, and drugs have become increasingly common in recent times. Many famous artists have been criticized for false advertising and exaggerating the effects of their products. Most recently, four products distributed by singer Doan Di Bang and her husband, including sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner, and facial mask, were discovered to be counterfeit and of poor quality.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed a high-level campaign to attack smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, intellectual property violations and product origin violations. Authorities are required to strictly handle these cases and prevent toxic products from entering the market.
