At the scene, the ambulance team discovered that Qiong Yao was no longer breathing and had no heartbeat. The female writer passed away before being taken to the hospital, at the age of 86.

Quynh Dao was born in 1938 and is a famous Chinese writer and screenwriter. In 1962, Quynh Dao, at the age of 24, published her first novel. Valley of Lovers in the magazine Crown . After that, she had many novels adapted into movies or television shows such as Princess Pearl, River of Separation, A Glimpse of Dreams, Clouds in the Water, Blue Sky in the Courtyard, Falling Plum Blossoms, Seagulls in the Flight ... Among them, Princess Pearl ranked among the classic television works and "treasures" of Chinese cinema.

In 2017, a letter she wrote to her son and daughter-in-law was unexpectedly released. The letter revealed that she had read an article titled Give yourself a beautiful farewell . She said the article inspired her to think about what would happen after she passed away. “When the time comes to leave, I hope my body will not be tortured by the unwillingness of my children and grandchildren. I also want to remind my son and daughter-in-law not to be confused about life and death,” she shared.

In 2022, the media reported that Quynh Dao was living in seclusion in a 7-story house named Kha Vien in Taipei City (Taiwan). The house was built more than 30 years ago, with an area of 660 square meters. Kha Vien is currently valued at 2.5 billion TWD ( 87 million USD ).
