Musician Nguyen Van Chung, author of many hits such as “Mother's Diary” and “Continue Writing the Story of Peace ,” has officially become the Inspirational Ambassador of the De Men Children's Awards.
According to information from the award's Organizing Committee - Sports and Culture newspaper (Vietnam News Agency), this is not only a recognition of his lasting contributions to children's music , but also a strategic step to expand the award's influence to the public, especially young people and parents.
As one of the outstanding musicians of the 8X generation, Nguyen Van Chung has left a deep impression with many famous songs. In addition to his music career for adults, most recently the song "Continuing the story of peace" (more than 3 billion listens on music platforms), he has also quietly cultivated a humane composition - children's music.
Since 2009, Nguyen Van Chung has started composing songs for children. To date, he has written more than 300 children's songs, many of which have become familiar melodies to children such as: "Small family, great happiness," "Flying into fairy tales," "Mong mo tuoi thu," "Mom oi sao?" ... In particular, the song "Mother's diary" has crossed genre boundaries to become a cultural phenomenon, touching the hearts of millions of people and being translated into many languages.
He believes that music is very important for children, it sows the seeds of aesthetics and morality, helps children be less violent and know how to love. In difficult areas, he sends videos teaching children to sing, directed by singer Duyen Quynh, so that teachers can teach even when there is no teaching and learning equipment.
For him, composing for children is a sacred duty, forcing him to accept “disadvantages” in pursuit. For example, there was a period when he focused on writing music for children, but for a long time there was no revenue, no recognition, he intended to give up. Then, suddenly, the musician received a message from a mother thanking him because thanks to the song, her son said “I love you, Mom”, something she had never received before.

In 2020, Nguyen Van Chung was one of the first artists to be honored by the De Men Children's Awards with the De Men Aspiration Award, for the most outstanding children's songs he composed during that period. Not only stopping at composing, Nguyen Van Chung also actively trains young talents through music classes, community music playgrounds and charity projects aimed at children in difficult circumstances.
At the ceremony to announce his role as Ambassador of the De Men Award, musician Nguyen Van Chung emotionally said: “I believe that in every child is a magical world of childhood. If we sow the seeds of kindness, love and creativity, they will blossom into trees of life full of fragrant flowers and sweet fruits. I am honored to accompany the De Men Children's Award 2025 - a place to inspire and spread the best things to Vietnamese children.”
He also shared his desire to spread the spirit of creativity for children: “If you still keep a world of childhood in you, if you love children, if you desire to give the best things to your children and to all Vietnamese children. Let's create more literary and artistic works for children with me, so that the best spiritual seeds can sprout in the souls of children today and tomorrow”./.
The Cricket Awards are not just an award, but are gradually becoming an ecosystem promoting children's art in Vietnam. The entries over the years have shown a richness in content, genre and expression - from short stories, comics, poems, music to creative videos and animations. The good news is that there are more and more works created by children themselves, demonstrating the maturity of a young creative generation.
The 2025 Cricket Children's Award is undergoing the judging rounds and is ready for the award ceremony to be held on International Children's Day (June 1)./.
