Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur meet again in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final at Anfield on Thursday night, with the visitors leading 1-0. Both teams will be brimming with confidence after crucial away wins in the Premier League over the weekend, results that have huge implications at both ends of the table.
Latest Liverpool vs Tottenham squad information
After being forced off with a thigh injury against Bournemouth on Saturday, Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold was almost certain to miss the game, but initial concerns were allayed after scans revealed the problem was not as serious as first thought.
The recent return of both Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones means Joe Gomez is the hosts' only remaining injury absentee at the moment, with Liverpool likely to be almost fully fit for this game.
Other positions left open are at left-back, where Andy Robertson and Tsimikas will compete for a starting spot, and in midfield between Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai to partner Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch.
While players continue to return and make great strides in their recovery, Spurs have suffered another blow after Radu Dragusin was ruled out for the season with a knee injury he suffered against Elfsborg last week.
Micky van de Ven returned for that Europa League game and has been retained over the weekend for this one, so the Dutch defender will be available to partner Ben Davies in defence.
Postecoglou revealed that he is confident Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner will all be back in the next week or so, but for Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke, their return will be a little longer.

Latest Liverpool vs Tottenham football commentary
It has been almost a month since Lucas Bergvall scored a late winner to give Spurs victory in the controversial first leg of their semi-final.
Just minutes before that decisive goal, Bergvall was lucky to escape a second yellow card for a late challenge on Kostas Tsimikas. However, both Liverpool and manager Arne Slot had to admit they had underperformed in the north London game.
However, many believe Liverpool will turn things around in the second leg this week and extend their record number of appearances in the final of this tournament to 15.
Jurgen Klopp's final trophy at Liverpool was last season's EFL Cup, which marked their 10th triumph in the competition. Despite trailing after the first leg, and Newcastle having almost one foot in the final from the other draw, the bookmakers still rate Liverpool as favourites to win the title.
Liverpool need to win by at least two goals. Since losing to Nottingham Forest in September, they are unbeaten in 15 home games, scoring at least two goals in each and winning 13 of those.
However, a 2-0 win over in-form Bournemouth, who caused Liverpool problems throughout the game, was a crucial step in their quest to win a second league title in 35 years.
Mohamed Salah's double secured victory, keeping Liverpool six points clear at the top of the Premier League, just days after they topped their Champions League group.
The next three games will be crucial to Liverpool's hopes of a historic quadruple. After this game, they travel to Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup, before facing Everton in the postponed Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
For Tottenham, this is perhaps their best chance in a long time to end their title drought.
Leading from the first leg, coupled with the prospect of facing Newcastle in the final rather than the mighty Manchester City (who beat them in the 2021 final), means manager Ange Postecoglou could well fulfil his promise of winning the title in his second season in charge of the club.
However, in the last two times Spurs have played a two-legged EFL Cup semi-final, they have lost to Chelsea on both occasions, including in 2019 when they led 1-0 going into the second leg away from home.
Anfield has not been a good place for Spurs either. They haven't won here since 2011, and have only drawn three times in 14 visits. However, a draw was enough to send them into their fourth final since winning the title in 2008.
It was a good week for Postecoglou, though, as he helped his side beat Brentford 2-0 and move up from 16th to 14th. A few days earlier, they had also booked their place in the last 16 of the Europa League with a comfortable win over Elfsborg, with three youngsters on target.
The clean sheet at the weekend means Spurs have kept four clean sheets in eight games, despite criticism of Postecoglou's tactics and an injury crisis.
Two of those came against Elfsborg and Tamworth, and while their defence has been poor against Everton and Leicester City recently, there's no denying that they've kept out two of the best attacks in English football in Liverpool and Brentford.
