- In recent years, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) and related units have actively built and expanded traditional cultural teams and clubs in the province. Thereby, contributing to improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people and arousing love for national culture in the community.
The Tay and Nung Folk Culture Club in Diem He Commune, Van Quan District, was established in July 2023 by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Van Quan District. The club currently has 75 members aged 5 to 75. With the support and encouragement of local authorities and their love for folk songs, all club members can now sing and perform a number of traditional folk songs fluently. Ms. Hoang Thi Chuyen, 71 years old, a club member, said: Joining the club not only helps us feel comfortable but also satisfies our passion for ethnic folk songs. After a period of joining the club, I and other members know how to sing Then, play Tinh lute and confidently perform at a number of events in the area.

In addition to the above Club, from 2020 to present, Van Quan district has newly established more than 20 more traditional arts and culture clubs, bringing the total number of clubs in the district to 45, attracting over 850 participants, an increase of more than 400 people compared to 2020.
In Cao Loc district, with the support of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in establishing traditional cultural clubs, from 2020 to now, the district has established 4 model clubs on lion dance, brocade weaving, and Sli singing with more than 100 students participating. Ms. Ha Thi Trinh, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Cao Loc district, said: After coordinating to expand the clubs, the department continued to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and towns to establish 20 more mass cultural and artistic clubs, bringing the total number of cultural and artistic clubs in the district to more than 50, an increase of 40% compared to 2020.
Along with Van Quan and Cao Loc, the establishment and expansion of traditional cultural teams and clubs have also taken place actively and effectively in the remaining districts and cities, contributing to improving the quantity and quality of these teams and clubs in the whole province. Specifically, from 2020 to now, the whole province has had nearly 100 traditional cultural teams and clubs established, bringing the total number to more than 200 traditional cultural teams and clubs with more than 2,000 members. On average, each club has from 15 to 30 participants.
The above results are the efforts of relevant levels and sectors in preserving and promoting the value of traditional cultural heritage of ethnic groups. Mr. Phan Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: We determined that in order to preserve the cultural heritage of ethnic groups, it is necessary to first preserve the human factor - the subject of the heritage. Therefore, the sector regularly organizes classes to teach intangible cultural heritage such as folk songs, folk dances, embroidery, weaving, lion and cat dances, etc. for people of all ages at the grassroots level (from 2020 to present, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated to organize classes to teach and guide the establishment of nearly 30 traditional cultural activity clubs). At the same time, support facilities for people in the classes, thereby forming models in preserving and promoting the value of traditional cultural heritage, thereby continuing to replicate and develop at the grassroots level.
Along with teaching, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also coordinates with relevant units to create cultural spaces to help members of teams and clubs participate in performing performances imbued with national identity at events taking place in the area. According to incomplete statistics, from 2020 to present, traditional cultural team and club models have participated in performing at over 200 conferences, events and tourism activities, festivals organized by all levels, contributing significantly to promoting the development of club models.
From the effectiveness of replicating traditional cultural teams and clubs, many cultural heritages in Lang Son have become a driving force for tourism development. According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2023, Lang Son welcomed more than 3.9 million visitors (up 11.9% over the same period in 2022); revenue from the tourism sector is estimated at over 3.1 trillion VND. In the first 3 months of 2024 alone, the total number of visitors to Lang Son reached over 1.5 million (up 12.7% over the same period in 2023), with revenue estimated at over 1,000 billion VND...
Through the establishment and expansion of traditional cultural teams and clubs, we have contributed to arousing national pride and raising awareness among people of all walks of life in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values in modern life today.
