Market management forces inspect fake fashion stores on tourist streets in Da Nang.

This is one of the activities to implement the peak plan on monitoring, inspecting and handling smuggling, trade fraud and infringement of intellectual property rights chaired by the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development to implement Directive No. 13/2025 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the new situation, Official Dispatch No. 65/2025 on launching a peak period to fight against and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights.

The working groups inspected a series of fashion stores including Black Label (156 Tran Phu), CoCo Accessory & Bag (144 Tran Phu), Gu (27 Hung Vuong), Mirror Shop (15 Nguyen Thai Hoc), all located in Hai Chau district - a central area with a large number of tourists , especially international visitors.

Market management forces have applied professional measures to conduct surprise inspections and discovered that inside the stores, many products of famous brands such as Chanel, LV, Gucci, Dior, Celine, YSL... were being sold at unusually low prices, with some products having a price difference of up to 95%.

According to the summary of the working groups, on May 20 alone, nearly 2,000 products including handbags, wallets, clothes, accessories, shoes bearing famous brands such as Hermès, Chanel, Gucci, Christian Dior, Celine, Prada, Louis Vuitton... and many goods of unknown origin, without invoices and documents were temporarily detained at the inspected stores to continue verifying signs of violations and handling them in accordance with the law.

According to Mr. Tran Viet Hung, Head of the Market Management Department, this is not the first time the Market Management force has deployed inspections of goods that violate intellectual property rights, especially in urban areas with a strong tourism service industry.

The inspection is not only to handle violations but also to contribute to cleaning up the market, protecting the rights of consumers, especially international tourists, and enhancing the reputation of goods in Vietnam. Mr. Hung said that these activities are being implemented within the framework of Plan 888 of the Market Management Force and will continue to be expanded in the coming time nationwide, especially in large urban areas and key areas. After the inspection, the Department will assign responsibility to local responsible units such as the Department of Industry and Trade and the Market Management Department to ensure that stores do not repeat the sale of counterfeit goods.

Mr. Hung added that the authorities will focus on increasing surprise inspections, strictly handling cases of intentional violations and promoting propaganda to raise legal awareness for businesses, especially in areas with a large number of tourists. The goal is to build an image of a civilized and friendly Vietnam, saying no to counterfeit goods in trade and service activities.
