Reporting on the summary of emulation and reward work in 2023 and the direction and tasks for 2024, comrade Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South, commented that in 2023, the emulation and reward work and emulation movement of the Vietnam Journalists Association were deployed in the right direction, creatively, with practical results focusing on implementing the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Journalists Association; focusing on improving the quality of performing political tasks and building a comprehensively strong Association at all levels.

According to comrade Tran Trong Dung, 13,435 members of 63 provincial and municipal Journalists Associations actively and effectively participated in emulation movements launched by the Central Association. Typical examples in the emulation movement to build a strong Association organization with proactive and creative ways of doing things include: Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong Journalists Associations; Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Kon Tum , Tra Vinh, Vinh Long Provincial Journalists Associations; Emulation clusters of Journalists Associations of provinces and cities maintained a good Cluster meeting routine to orient activities, evaluate emulation, and reward according to the Emulation and Reward Regulations of the Vietnam Journalists Association, organized exciting professional, cultural, and sports activities, participated in the National Press Festival, and exchanged with Associations inside and outside the Cluster.

However, comrade Tran Trong Dung said that the budget for emulation and reward work of the Association at all levels is still limited, which greatly affects the launching of emulation movements; regular rewards for collectives and individuals with achievements in Association activities; and unexpected rewards for authors whose works won prizes at press competitions organized by the Central Ministries and branches also face many difficulties.
Sharing opinions at the conference, leaders of the Journalists Association at all levels all said that the emulation movement has had positive changes, with many specific and practical activities. The emulation movements have been widely responded to and participated in by members, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the activities of the association at all levels and contributing to the completion of the tasks of agencies and units.
Comrade Vu Thi Ha - Head of the Association's Working Committee, Vietnam Journalists Association read the Decision on emulation and rewards for outstanding collectives and individuals.
Regarding the emulation movement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies", Mr. Ta Dinh Nghia - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Soc Trang Journalists Association proposed that the Vietnam Journalists Association organize a preliminary and final review at the end of the 2022 - 2025 period and reward and encourage outstanding collectives and individuals in deploying and implementing the movement.
At the Conference, the Emulation and Reward Council of the Vietnam Journalists Association awarded Emulation Flags to 18 groups and Certificates of Merit to 29 groups and 51 individuals.
In his closing speech at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association said that the conference commended and rewarded typical advanced and new factors in the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association at all levels in 2023, ensuring strictness, substance, and consistency between the nature, form and objects of commendation, ensuring the suitability between the level of commendation and the achievements in accordance with the promulgated emulation and commendation regulations.
Comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association awarded emulation flags to the Association's collectives with outstanding achievements.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi requested that the content of the emulation movement in 2024 needs to innovate the content and form, and methods of organizing emulation movements associated with the successful implementation of political tasks of agencies and units, further raising the awareness of each cadre and member about the role, position and importance of emulation and reward work, contributing significantly to building strong agencies, units, and organizations of the Association, improving the quality of Association activities, the quality of the Association organization and members.
"At this Conference, the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Central Emulation and Reward Council launched a widespread emulation campaign at all levels of the Association and called on all cadres and members to enthusiastically respond and strive to successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day in 2025," comrade Nguyen Duc Loi launched.
