Many families in Ho Chi Minh City "play big", rent hotels to watch the parade, march on April 30th

On the afternoon of April 29, Ms. Khanh Le's family (living in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) said they were preparing to go to Caravelle Saigon Hotel to check in and wait until the morning of April 30 to watch the parade. The room rate on weekdays is about 4-5 million VND, if breakfast is included, the cost will be higher, on holidays the price is much higher depending on the time of booking.

"My grandparents booked 2 rooms for the whole family half a month ago to watch the parade on the morning of April 30. My house is less than 10 km from the hotel, but my grandparents are old and cannot wake up early to go to the city center, so the family decided to "play big" and rent a room next to the Ho Chi Minh City Theater, Dong Khoi Street for convenient walking" - Ms. Le excitedly said.

Some other families also live in Ho Chi Minh City but are still willing to spend a lot of money, renting hotels in District 1 to join in the atmosphere of the great celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.

Ms. Ngoc Cam (living in Binh Thanh District) said that for the past 3 days, her family has rented a hotel on Thi Sach Street (District 1) right in the central area to join the crowd watching the parade early on April 30. The room rate in this area is about 3.5 million VND/night, 4-star hotel, including breakfast.

"My house is close by, but I was afraid that my children wouldn't be able to get into the area near the main ceremony, so I chose to stay at a hotel. The whole family could experience the vibrant atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City during the big ceremony," said Ms. Cam.

According to the reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City is the tourist center of the whole country with a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Not only tourists from all over the country flock here, but people in Ho Chi Minh City also choose to rent hotels in the central area to watch fireworks, drone performances and watch military parades and marches during the preliminary and final rehearsal days before the official ceremony on the morning of April 30.

A survey on several online platforms this morning, April 29, showed that not many hotels in the city area still have rooms available. A few 4-5 star hotels in Districts 1 and 3 still have rooms available but the prices are very high.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, up to now, 1- to 5-star hotels in the city center have room occupancy rates of 95% to 100%. Many large hotels in the 4- to 5-star segment have reported full rooms from April 27 to May 1. Hotels in the vicinity of the city center have recorded room occupancy rates of 80% or more during this year's holiday.

Many hotels decorate and design spaces filled with the eye-catching and lively atmosphere of the 30-4 holiday.

With reasonable accommodation prices, stable service quality and convenient locations to travel to event venues, these hotels continue to be the choice of many tourists. During the two peak days of April 30 and May 1, the demand for accommodation increased sharply, causing many hotels in neighboring areas to be "full".
