Salt tourism not only contributes to the preservation and promotion of the traditional craft, but also opens up a sustainable direction for the salt industry in Bac Lieu. Bac Lieu salt tourism will become a unique highlight on the Vietnamese tourism map.

Linking the value chain from salt production to tourism helps to both enhance the value of the product and create unique experiences for tourists. To realize this potential, many practical suggestions and solutions were discussed at the workshop "Orientation and Solutions for Developing Bac Lieu Salt Tourism Products".

* Ms. Le Dinh Minh Thy - Director of Vietravel Can Tho branch: Develop unique tour packages, combining visits to salt villages with famous tourist destinations.

Bac Lieu needs to collaborate with tourism businesses to develop unique tour packages, combining visits to salt villages with famous tourist attractions such as the Bac Lieu Prince's House, Bac Lieu Bird Garden, and Bac Lieu Wind Farm; designing themed tourism experiences such as: the "A Day as a Salt Farmer" tour (tourists can participate in raking and carrying salt, learn about traditional salt-making, and participate in folk games), the " Discover the Flavors of Bac Lieu Salt" tour (experiencing specialty dishes made from salt), and the "Western Vietnam - Bac Lieu Journey" tour (integrating Bac Lieu into linked routes such as Can Tho - Soc Trang - Bac Lieu - Ca Mau, aiming to increase the length of stay and experiences of tourists)...

Collaborate with hotels, resorts, and restaurants to incorporate salt-based products into culinary experiences and mineral salt spa services, thereby enhancing the value of tourism products. Alternatively, combine local cuisine with salt to create a unique selling point, as food is an indispensable part of any tourism journey. Organize a "Salt Feast" with a special menu featuring dishes prepared with salt, such as salt-grilled chicken, salt-grilled snakehead fish, salt-roasted prawns, and salted rice paper rolls, showcasing the distinctive flavors of Bac Lieu. Or establish a specialty salt market (introducing local salt varieties, combined with street food stalls where tourists can enjoy them on the spot). Furthermore, develop health tourism products using salt (establish mineral salt spa services, herbal salt foot baths, allowing tourists to experience the health benefits of salt).

Developing innovative tourism products not only helps to maximize the potential of the salt industry but also provides tourists with new and exciting experiences. This will contribute to building a unique tourism brand for Bac Lieu, boosting the economy and preserving traditional cultural values.
