Many reservoirs release spillways to regulate water

On September 23, due to the impact of heavy rain, water levels in many reservoirs in Dak Lak province rose. To ensure the safety of the works and the downstream area, Dak Lak Irrigation Works Management Company Limited released spillways to regulate water at some reservoirs.

According to the summary report, at 7:00 a.m. on September 23, many large reservoirs managed by the company had reached and exceeded their design capacity, such as: Dak Minh Lake (118%), Ya Loi Lake (115%), Ea Sup Ha Lake (105%), Buon Joong Lake (101%)...

Irrigation branches have also announced the regulation of overflow water discharge. Specifically: Ea Sup irrigation branch has started to release overflow water from 10:00 on September 23, with the discharge flow at the upper Ea Sup lake being from 50 - 150 m³/s; the lower Ea Sup lake is from 30 - 60 m³/s.

Ea H'leo Irrigation Branch announced water regulation for two reservoirs: Ea H'leo 1 reservoir, with flow from 15 - 50 m³/s; Ea Drang reservoir from 19 - 40 m³/s.

In addition to the above lakes, Buon Joong lake is spilling water with a flow rate of 20 m³/s; some other reservoirs have also reached and exceeded their design capacity such as Ya Loi lake (115%), Doi 4 lake (126%) and are freely spilling.

Irrigation branches have notified the People's Committee and the Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command of communes in the downstream area to widely propagate and inform people, especially in streamside areas, to proactively prevent damage to people and property.
