Many meaningful activities at the Week of "Great National Unity"

The plan to organize the Week of "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" in 2024 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism was issued based on the 2024 Work Plan of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on the basis of discussion and agreement with the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and related localities.

The purpose of organizing the "Great National Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week in 2024 is to contribute to preserving and promoting the tradition of great national unity; honoring the cultural heritage of Vietnamese ethnic groups; enhancing practical cultural, sports and tourism exchange activities to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the Traditional Day - the founding day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024) and the anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23); honoring the spirit of great national unity, a precious tradition and cultural heritage of our nation, forged through thousands of years of building and defending the country.

Spread and promote national cultural identity, preserve, promote and honor the cultural identity of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups; raise awareness and responsibility in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development according to Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014 of the 11th Party Central Committee, Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party and the 2021 National Cultural Conference.

Strengthening links and coordination with localities in preserving, maintaining and promoting the values of ethnic cultural heritage and in promoting, advertising and developing tourism in the Village as well as attracting tourists to the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires basic activities carried out by cultural entities, selected with rich themes and content, and of practical significance in preserving and promoting the values of national cultural heritage, linked with tourism development to enhance mutual support between ethnic groups, localities and regions.

The programs within the framework of the event must be carefully prepared, well-rehearsed, with typical, appropriate and highly artistic content; meeting the creative and enjoyment needs of the people; having a community character and promoting cultural subjects. Promoting the strengths of the ethnic communities operating daily at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village in conjunction with the participation of localities and units; enhancing socialization in organizing event activities.

The activities are organized solemnly, practically, economically, effectively, without wastefulness, while creating a joyful, exciting, and safe atmosphere associated with the country's political and cultural events and absolutely ensuring security, politics, order and social safety, creating an exciting atmosphere for the people of all ethnic groups and all visitors participating in the Festival.

Focus on propaganda and promotion to attract tourists to the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism and participating localities. Ensure consistency, scientificity and flexibility in the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; People's Committees of provinces and cities participating in the Festival, and smooth coordination between units in the implementation process.

Taking place from November 15 to November 24, 2024 at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi, the organization of the "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week in 2024 will have outstanding activities: Opening program of the "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week in 2024; The 7th Then singing and Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups in 2024; Great National Unity Day at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village; Cultural colors of festivals; performance, exchange, and introduction of ethnic cultures; Cultural exchange festival of ethnic groups in the Southwest; Cultural exchange festival of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands; Cultural exchange festival of ethnic groups in the Northwest.

As expected, the "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week in 2024 will have about 200 people from 17 ethnic groups (including Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Muong, Lao, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Co Tu, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Raglai, E De, Khmer, Cho Ro) from 12 localities with people participating in daily activities at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village and coordinating the organization of events (not including people from localities attending the 7th Then singing and Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups in 2024)./.
