The total value of activities during the Provincial Humanitarian Month strives to reach over 500 million VND, supporting 1,000 people. The Red Cross at all levels in the province strives to mobilize resources to support over 5,000 poor and extremely disadvantaged households during the Humanitarian Month, worth over 2.5 billion VND.
The locations selected to organize meaningful humanitarian activities are GO! Ha Nam Supermarket and Lan Chi Supermarket, Vinh Tru town (Ly Nhan). At these two humanitarian activity locations, humanitarian charity boxes were placed. At the end of April 2025, in response to Humanitarian Month 2025, the Provincial Red Cross Association coordinated with GO! Ha Nam Supermarket to provide support funds to 2 extremely difficult circumstances in Phu Ly city. Ms. Pham Thi Hau (Thanh Tuyen ward, Phu Ly city), is one of 2 people with difficult living conditions who received support. It is known that Ms. Hau lives with her sister and younger sister in a small, dilapidated house, her sister is sick, Ms. Hau herself is also sick and has to stay in one place, her younger sister is the pillar of the family and works as a garment worker. Sharing the difficult circumstances of the family, the delegation supported the family with 10 million VND and gifts of other essential necessities. In the same pitiful situation that needs help is Mrs. Tran Thi Hien (Chau Cau Ward, Phu Ly City), who is over 70 years old and lives with her 6-year-old grandchild (whose parents unfortunately passed away early). Mrs. Hien is often sick and weak. To help Mrs. Hien reduce her difficulties and have more conditions to take care of her grandchild's education, the delegation provided support in the amount of 5 million VND.
These are just 2 of many cases supported and assisted by the Red Cross Association at all levels in a series of activities of the Humanitarian Month 2025. In addition to supporting and giving gifts, the Provincial Red Cross Association also diversifies other forms of humanitarian activities such as: Organizing humanitarian blood donation, medical examination, and providing free medicine to people in difficult circumstances; propaganda, first aid training for students, managers, teachers, and medical staff of schools in the province...
On May 19, the Provincial Red Cross Association in collaboration with the 68 Group Joint Stock Company and the Provincial General Hospital inaugurated the second humanitarian activity site of the Provincial Red Cross Association. At this activity site, humanitarian support models were implemented in a practical and effective manner, such as: mobilizing voluntary blood donation in industrial parks; organizing periodic free medical examinations and medicine distribution for the elderly and people in difficult circumstances; maintaining a charity kitchen to support poor workers; organizing vocational training and job connections for people with disabilities and disadvantaged people; supporting accommodation for poor workers and people with disabilities working in industrial parks.
Also at the program, the Organizing Committee examined and provided free medicine to 100 people from poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households in Thanh Liem district and Phu Ly city. Each person who came for examination received a gift worth 550,000 VND. This is the opening activity for a series of humanitarian programs deployed at the new activity point... Present at the examination and free medicine distribution session early in the morning, Mr. Bui Quang Tu, 76 years old in Mau Chu, Thanh Ha (Thanh Liem) shared: Elderly people like us often have underlying diseases and old-age diseases. The Provincial Red Cross Association opened a humanitarian activity point near our house, so traveling is also very convenient. I was consulted by doctors and nurses with an enthusiastic and gentle attitude, helping us feel secure about our health. I hope there will be more humanitarian activities like this throughout the province so that the elderly can receive more support in protecting and taking care of their health.
Mr. Tong Van Tam, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Association, said: The opening of the humanitarian activity site and the humanitarian sites that the Red Cross Association has set up in supermarkets are not only important events in the humanitarian journey of the Provincial Red Cross Association but also a vivid manifestation of the spirit of "Red Cross - For everyone, everywhere"; demonstrating the companionship and sharing between organizations, businesses and the community in humanitarian work. The humanitarian activity site is expected to be a reliable address, promptly spreading love and strongly arousing the spirit of mutual love and affection throughout society.
It can be said that the activities of the Red Cross Association at all levels in the Humanitarian Month of 2025 continue to affirm the core, bridging and coordinating role of the Red Cross Association in humanitarian and charitable activities. Through this, it has aroused the spirit of mutual love and affection; spread humanistic values in the community to increasingly support the disadvantaged, contributing to the effective implementation of social security policies in the area.
