Many iPhone models stopped selling in Vietnam

The iPhone models that have stopped being sold on official shelves are all models that have been on the market for many years, including the iPhone 11.

According to information from major mobile retailers, from the beginning of August 2025, three Apple smartphone models including iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 14 Plus will stop selling. This move will cause the above products to disappear from the shelves. Users can still find these devices at small retail establishments, but it will be difficult because there are not many places available.

According to a retail representative, this is Apple's strategy to restructure its product portfolio, eliminating models that are no longer suitable for current consumer trends in Vietnam. Currently, only a few dealers have a small amount of inventory and are applying discount programs from 200,000 to 500,000 VND to sell off these items.

Among the above models, iPhone 11 is the oldest model when it was launched in the Vietnamese market in late 2019. After 6 years on the shelves, the device has gradually adjusted its price from the high-end segment to the mid-range and low-cost segment and received special attention from users who want to own an iPhone but do not want to spend too much on a phone. For a long time, iPhone 11 has continuously appeared in the list of best-selling Apple phones of major dealer systems.

iPhone 13 becomes the cheapest genuine model

The "death" of the above models, especially the iPhone 11, has directly made the iPhone 13 the genuine Apple phone with the lowest starting price on the Vietnamese market today, currently fluctuating around 11.3 - 11.5 million VND, a decrease of about 300,000 - 400,000 VND compared to the end of July.

At the same time, the prices of the iPhone 14 and 15 lines were also adjusted down further, with a reduction of up to 700,000 VND depending on the memory version and color.

Faced with this change, mobile retailers also have a plan. A representative of the CellPhoneS system said that with the new catalog, the main iPhone lines in the segment under 20 million VND will include the names: iPhone 13, 14 and 15. Therefore, the system has proactively imported more goods to prepare for the peak shopping season at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Viettel Store shared its plan to focus on two "key" models (replacing the recently discontinued models), the iPhone 13 and iPhone 15 Plus. In particular, the iPhone 15 Plus is popular with users thanks to its good price (from 19 million VND), large screen, impressive battery life and the convenience of the USB-C charging port.

Notably, the price listed on the dealer's website may not be the lowest amount that users need to spend to own an Apple phone. Accordingly, when combined with promotions, discount codes and payment incentives on e-commerce platforms, the price of iPhones sold online is even more attractive. For example, users can own the standard iPhone 15 Plus (128 GB capacity) for less than 17 million VND, up to 2 million VND lower than the listed price at the same time of purchase.

Compared to the gloomy market of previous years, a positive sign of the market this year is the growth of iPhone sales, according toFPT Shop. Normally, July and August are the months when the market slows down to wait for the appearance of the new iPhone (launched in September). According to an expert, this year's stimulus programs, back-to-school shopping season combined with the low price of iPhone are factors contributing to changing this reality.

According to leaked information, this year's iPhone will be launched on September 10 (Vietnam time) and may be sold earlier than previous years in Vietnam.
