Many financial violations at the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau

The Chief Inspector of Ca Mau province transferred the case file showing signs of criminal offense in the case of creating fake payment documents that occurred at the Office of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Investigation Police Agency of Ca Mau province for handling according to regulations.

On November 1, the Inspectorate of Ca Mau province announced that it had issued an inspection conclusion on the implementation of policies, laws, and assigned tasks and powers in the fields of culture and family; physical education and sports; tourism and advertising at the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTT&DL) (inspection period from January 2020 to December 2022).

Through the inspection, many violations related to finance were discovered. Therefore, the Chief Inspector of Ca Mau province issued a decision to recover over 1.5 billion VND; of which: 696 million VND was recovered from the Office of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, 718 million VND was recovered from the Ca Mau Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, 139 million VND was recovered from the Ca Mau Provincial Cultural Center and 17 million VND was recovered from the Phu Tan District Culture and Information Department.

The Chief Inspector of Ca Mau province transferred the case with signs of criminal offense to the Investigation Police Agency of Ca Mau province to handle according to regulations the case of creating fake payment documents for the amount of 191 million VND, which occurred at the Office of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the case of Mr. Hua Duc Trong (coach) forging signatures to sign contracts to use sports athletes to receive fake food and training salaries for the amount of 131 million VND, which occurred at the Ca Mau province Sports Training and Competition Center.

Propose that the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province direct the Department of Information and Communications (MIC) to continue clarifying violations of the LED screen procurement package at the Ca Mau Provincial Convention Center (due to the fact that during the inspection, the inspection team encountered difficulties in determining the operation and features of the equipment in data import and export....).

The Inspectorate of Ca Mau province also transferred the documents related to the issuance of fake invoices by Mr. Nguyen Huu Loc (owner of Nguyen Huu Loc Advertising Design Facility); Ms. Ho Thi Kieu (kiosk 12B Nguyen Kim, Ward 7, Ca Mau City) to the Ca Mau Provincial Tax Department and the documents related to the issuance of fake invoices by Mr. Bui Khac Lam (Director of Thang Long Sports Equipment Import-Export Production Trading Company Limited) to the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department for handling according to regulations.
