The 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd became a "golden opportunity" for businesses and brands to launch sales campaigns. From the end of July, the atmosphere of stimulating shopping demand spread from shopping malls to retail stores.

In the fashion sector, Canifa was one of the first brands to join the race to stimulate demand in celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day. The brand's "Patriotism from the Cradle" collection attracted attention due to its diverse range of products for various age groups, priced at approximately 169,000-299,000 VND per item. The company also launched a 20-30% discount program for group purchases and a patriotic-themed mini-game to attract customers.
A representative from Canifa stated that the campaign is the result of months of preparation, with the main products being T-shirts, scarves, hats, and caps in the red color of the national flag. The majority of the collection is available for pre-order.
"Although it doesn't fully reflect actual revenue, the number of pre-orders shows strong growth, especially in the context of the whole country preparing for the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day," a representative from Canifa shared.
Similarly, many other brands such as BOO, Coolmate, Yody, Lamer... also launched patriotic-themed collections with t-shirts as the main product. For example, in early August, Coolmate released the "Freedom to Soar" collection along with some discounts and free shipping for minimum orders.
In the jewelry sector, Phu Quy Gold, Silver and Gemstone Group also launched a commemorative silver bar version celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, weighing 5 taels (approximately 37.5 grams). The company stated that on the opening day of orders, all 9,999 silver bars were pre-ordered. Previously, the company's commemorative silver bar version celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification was also very popular and sold out within the first few days of its launch.
Meanwhile, many supermarket chains and retail stores are also quickly taking advantage of this prime time to stimulate consumer demand. For example, at shopping malls like Aeon Mall and Vincom, fashion and accessory stalls are attractively decorated and conveniently located to attract customers during this holiday season.
On streets like Hang Bong, Hang Gai, and Phu Doan, souvenir shops become much busier and more vibrant on weekends leading up to the Grand Celebration. The shops are brightly decorated with products that bear the distinctive mark and identity of Vietnam, attracting many locals and international tourists to buy them.
Ms. Thu Huyen, residing in Cua Nam ward, expressed her excitement at having recently purchased matching red flag and yellow star-patterned shirts for her family to participate in the series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day. She said that compared to previous years, this grand celebration brings many sacred and cherished emotions, and is also an opportunity for her to instill in her children a love for their country.
With numerous activities celebrating National Day, Hanoi is expected to welcome a surge in visitors from Central and Southern Vietnam, as well as internationally. Ms. Ngoc Toan, the owner of a souvenir shop, said that in addition to products sold year-round (T-shirts, flags, hats), she has imported many more souvenirs such as fans, keychains, notebooks, and paintings... printed with the national flag.
"From the end of July until now, customer demand for these products has increased by about 20% compared to last month, with T-shirts featuring the red flag and yellow star being the most popular," she shared.

Manufacturers also seized the opportunity to sell products in celebration of the country's National Day. Ms. Thu Huong, Director of a garment company based in Truong Thi ward, Ninh Binh province, said that the number of orders for garments commemorating National Day increased sharply from the end of July, forcing the entire factory to operate at full capacity. Most of the staff and workers had to work overtime to meet delivery deadlines.
Besides regular customers, many new customers also proactively placed orders, focusing on two products: oversized t-shirts and family matching outfits. Most products featured yellow lettering along with images of the national flag, conical hats, historical landmarks, or the S-shaped map of Vietnam, in a variety of styles.
"These shirts, priced between 100,000 and 200,000 VND, are easily accessible to many consumer segments. Some major brands have ordered thousands of them to celebrate this special occasion," Ms. Huong said.
Explaining the appeal of products bearing national symbols, a representative of the Canifa fashion brand noted that 2025 marks a year of strong consumer demand for this type of product, due to two major holidays: the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, and the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd.
According to her, the differentiating factor of this year's products compared to previous September 2nd celebrations lies in the combination of emotion and practical application. For families with young children and young people, the simple, easy-to-match designs allow for flexible use in various situations, from everyday life to major holidays. For international tourists, products such as t-shirts, hats, or bags also become souvenirs that bear the distinctive mark of Vietnamese culture.
"This is a positive sign showing that people, especially young people, are increasingly proactively expressing their love for the country through their daily fashion choices," a representative from Canifa shared.
