MANY SPECIAL PERFORMANCES AT THE PHU THO XOAN SINGING AND FOLK SONG FESTIVAL IN 2024

On December 7, 2024 at Hoa Phong Cinema, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province successfully organized the 2024 Phu Tho Xoan Singing and Folk Song Festival. The performances at the Festival were exciting, enthusiastic, attracting attention and leaving deep impressions in the hearts of the audience.
The 2024 Phu Tho Xoan Singing and Folk Song Festival is one of the activities to concretize the key tasks of preserving and promoting the values of the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, Phu Tho Xoan Singing in 2024; Through the Festival, it aims to encourage and motivate the Xoan Singing and Folk Song movement in Phu Tho , contributing to enriching the cultural and spiritual life of the people in the province; at the same time, it is an opportunity for Phu Tho Xoan Singing and Folk Song Clubs to meet, exchange, discuss, and learn more about the origin, meaning, unique value and beauty of Xoan Singing, thereby raising awareness and sense of responsibility of the Clubs in the work of preserving, conserving and promoting the values of the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
The festival attracted nearly 400 artists, actors, and musicians to participate with nearly 60 outstanding performances from 17 Xoan and folk song clubs in Phu Tho province. Many units have invested in and staged programs and performances; have a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm in the competition program. In particular, some clubs, although newly established and participating in the festival for the first time, have paid great attention to investing in staging performances with a large number of actors. All units strictly followed the regulations of the Organizing Committee on: content, form, duration; closely following the theme and structure of the program.
This year's festival, in addition to Xoan singing, the audience also enjoyed regional folk songs such as Cheo singing, Chau Van singing, Then singing, Quan Ho singing, etc., creating a colorful picture at the festival. Some performances by the troupes were elaborately staged with a large number of artists and actors, creating a deep impression on the public, such as: "Uncle returns to the national festival" by Cao Xa Commune Club, "Ho Cheo cach" by Dong Xuan Commune Club, "Lullaby of the country - Vietnamese spirit" by Chi Tien Commune Club; "Following the call of Uncle Ho" by Ha Hoa Town Club; "Naturalization to invite the king, drums, and cannons" by Bao Yen Commune Club; "Drums - cannons" by Hung Lo Club, etc.
Most of the troupes performed Xoan singing relatively fluently, singing with the right pitch, duration, rhythm, beat, and style, and bringing the soul of Xoan singing into the performances. Some of the voices had good expressive power. Basically, the participating troupes used costumes and props appropriate to each performance content. The contest performances not only showed the charming traditional beauty of Phu Tho Xoan singing but also demonstrated the creative continuation and promotion of generations towards the intangible cultural heritage of the homeland, country, and humanity.
At the Closing Ceremony of the Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 17 collective prizes including: 8 A prizes and 9 B prizes; awarded 50 performance prizes including: 17 A prizes, 25 B prizes and 8 C prizes for excellent performances participating in the Festival.
