Thanks to what, Vin stocks are surging, VIC and VRE hit the ceiling?

The first trading session of the week opened in positive green under the leadership of the trio of Vin stocks: VIC, VHM, VRE, with respective increases of 5.8%, more than 5.3% and 3.2%.

However, the market remained green on the outside and red on the inside for about 30 minutes at the end of the morning session. Most of the industry groups that had quite positive growth were narrowed by the end of this morning session. Typically, the plastics - chemicals group, although it had improved from the beginning of the session, could not maintain its momentum afterwards.

At the end of the morning session on February 19, VN-Index increased by 4.42 points, equivalent to 0.37% to 1,214.12 points. The entire floor had 211 stocks increasing and 269 stocks decreasing. HNX-Index decreased by 0.4 points to 232.64 points. UPCoM-Index increased by 0.06 points to 90.13 points.

Entering the afternoon session, strong demand helped the market flourish and the VN-Index "drove up" to increase points positively.

At the end of the trading session on February 19, VN-Index increased by 15.27 points, equivalent to 1.26% to 1,224.97 points. The entire floor had 298 stocks increasing, 217 stocks decreasing, and 52 stocks remaining unchanged.

HNX-Index increased by 0.33 points to 233.37 points. On the whole floor, 89 stocks increased, 60 stocks decreased and 96 stocks remained unchanged. UPCoM-Index increased by 0.39 points to 90.45 points. In the VN30 basket alone, 21 stocks increased in price.

The trio of Vin stocks continued to soar and contributed a total of 6.8 points to the general market, notably VRE and VIC hit the ceiling, this was also the 6th consecutive increase of VIC stock. In today's session, foreign investors also net bought a total of 421.6 billion VND in these 3 stocks.

One of the driving forces that could help this code soar is VinFast's introduction of a line of left-hand drive electric vehicles at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024, which opened last weekend in the capital city of Jakarta. In particular, the VF5, VF e34, VF6 and VF7 models in segments A to C are expected to be sold in this market in the near future.

VinFast's first move after entering Indonesia was to sign a Letter of Intent to cooperate with the first five dealers to expand its distribution network. This is also the way VinFast has been selling cars in the US in recent times.

On the other hand, the group in the top of the morning session was the oil and gas industry. Notable codes were BSR up 5.82%, PLX up 2.69%, OIL up 3%, TDG up 0.53%, PVO up 1.92%.

The biggest plus point in today's session was the sudden increase in liquidity of 45% to VND29,129 billion, of which the matched value on the HoSE floor reached VND24,754 billion, up 35%. In the VN30 group, liquidity reached VND11,614 billion.

Foreign investors also turned to net buying with a value of 137.78 billion VND today, of which this group disbursed 1,863 billion VND and sold 1,725 billion VND.

The codes that were sold strongly were VND 146 billion, DBC 62 billion, MWG 61 billion, VNM 49 billion, CTG 37 billion,... On the contrary, the codes that were mainly bought were BHI 1,628 billion, VHM 194 billion, VRE 116 billion, VIC 111 billion, MSN 86 billion,... .
