Vietnam - Germany Parliamentary Friendship Group works in Nam Dinh and Nghe An

In Nam Dinh, the delegation worked with the Standing Committee of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee and representatives of the provincial departments, branches, andeducational and training establishments; visited My Thuan Industrial Park (My Loc); and visited and worked at Nam Dinh Nursing University.

Receiving the delegation, Secretary of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee Pham Gia Tuc gave a general information to the delegation about the historical and cultural traditions, advantages, potentials of Nam Dinh province, and achievements in socio -economic development of the province in recent times.

The Secretary of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee hopes that the delegation will connect and encourage German businesses and investors to invest in Nam Dinh, especially in high-tech fields; emphasizing that Nam Dinh is the only locality in Vietnam with a nursing university, which is a favorable condition to implement cooperation programs to send Vietnamese people to work in Germany in the fields of nursing, nursing, health care, etc.

The Secretary of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee hopes that in the coming time, human resource training schools in Nam Dinh will have more opportunities to participate in cooperation programs between the two governments on vocational training, technology and technical support, thereby opening up opportunities for comprehensive cooperation between Nam Dinh and German organizations and localities; affirming that Nam Dinh province will create all favorable conditions to attract German enterprises and investors to invest in the province, contributing to promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.

Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Don Tuan Phong said that this was the first visit to the locality by the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Parliamentarians Group during the 15th National Assembly term, an opportunity for the delegation to better understand the socio-economic situation, advantages, and potential of the locality as well as cooperation opportunities between Vietnam and Germany in general, and between Nam Dinh province and German partners in particular.

The Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee emphasized that Nam Dinh is a locality with a favorable geographical location, a developed economy, advantages in infrastructure, investment environment, abundant human resources and high-quality human resource training facilities, and support and facilitation from Party committees and authorities at all levels. With the potential for cooperation in the fields of science - technology, culture, sports and tourism, labor development, etc., Nam Dinh province and German investors can promote cooperation in these fields.

German Ambassador Guido Hildner said that the Vietnamese and German governments have agreed to cooperate in building two important projects related to climate change and recruiting skilled and professional nursing workers; he believes that with the advantages, potential and attention of the provincial leaders, the cooperative relationship between Nam Dinh province and investors from Germany will further develop in the coming time.

Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Don Tuan Phong emphasized that Nghe An has strengths to attract foreign investment in general and German investors in particular. In addition to the fields in which Germany has strengths such as precision engineering, manufacturing, processing, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, etc., the two sides can exchange and discuss cooperation in the fields of science - technology, education - training, culture - sports and tourism, labor, local affairs and people-to-people exchange.

At the meeting, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung said that Nghe An has a long tradition of cooperative relations with Germany. Previously, Germany supported Nghe An province in planning and constructing infrastructure works in Vinh city. However, cooperation between Nghe An province and German partners is still modest, not commensurate with its potential.

The Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee proposed that the German Ambassador to Vietnam and members of the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Parliamentarians Group help the locality promote trade and investment, introduce German enterprises and investors to survey, invest and cooperate with partners in Nghe An province; hope that Germany will create conditions for Nghe An province to participate in the labor export program to Germany, especially the program to send Vietnamese nurses to Germany for training and work; expand labor export in other fields...

Nghe An province also requested the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Parliamentary Group, the German Ambassador and the German Embassy to introduce and connect Nghe An province with a German locality to establish friendly and cooperative relations at the local level; and enhance people-to-people exchanges at the local level in the coming time.

At the meeting, leaders of Nghe An province and the German Ambassador to Vietnam also discussed cooperation opportunities in key areas: vocational training, energy and environmental protection...; progress of ODA projects in the province and agreed to actively work with central agencies to soon complete procedures for project implementation in the coming time.

During the visit and working program in Nghe An province, the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Parliamentarians Group and the German Ambassador to Vietnam visited VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park; visited Kim Lien Special National Relic Site; and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh.
