The best Korean dramas to watch in 2024

TV Daily recently conducted a survey with more than 80 experts in the radio and television industry to vote for the most worth-watching movie in 2024.

TvN dominates

In the traditional TV category, tvN's Jeong Nyeon topped the list of most anticipated dramas with 16 votes. Set during the Korean War in the 1950s, the drama depicts the growth of talented female artist Jeong Nyeon, from childhood to joining the national theater troupe. The drama features a strong cast including Kim Tae Ri, Shin Ye Eun, Ra Mi Ran, Moon So Ri, and Jung Eun Chae. Most of the voters were interested in the female-centered story and were looking forward to Kim Tae Ri's versatile acting ability. "I hope Kim Tae Ri, with her impressive filmography, will shine alongside the veteran actors."

tvN's Captivating the King came in second place with 12 votes. The drama, which stars Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung, is set to premiere on January 21. In third place was tvN's Wedding Impossiple with nine votes. The romantic comedy, which stars Baeksang Award-winning actress Jeon Jong Seo and Moon Sang Min, is set to premiere in February.

4th place (8 votes) went to tvN's Someday Hospital Playlist and 5th place (6 votes) went to SBS's Greetings.

Will Squid Game 2 continue to make miracles?

It's no surprise that Squid Game 2 topped the list of most anticipated dramas on the streaming platform with 21 votes. Director Hwang Dong Hyuk said, "We will return with new games and amazing stories." Most of the voters were curious about what the director will bring to the audience after the huge success of the first season.

2nd place belongs to Netflix's Gyuseong Creature 2 (10 votes) starring Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee. Set in the darkest days of 1945, the film is a story about two young people fighting a monster born from greed. 3rd place continues to be a Netflix film titled All of Us Are Dead 2 with 7 votes.
