Exciting 39th National Road and Mountain Cycling Championship 2025

On the morning of July 28, at the Binh Duong Sports Training and Competition Center, the opening ceremony of the 39th National Road and Mountain Bike Championship took place. The tournament was organized by the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sports Federation, attracting more than 250 athletes from 12 provinces, cities and sectors across the country.

Delegates and the Organizing Committee presented flowers and souvenir flags to the delegations participating in the tournament.

Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of leaders of departments, branches, organizations, and localities in Ho Chi Minh City; representatives of sponsors, members of the Organizing Committee, and leaders of delegations participating in the tournament.

The 39th National Road and Mountain Cycling Championship takes place from July 28 to August 7, 2025, with the road cycling event taking place on the roads of Binh Duong , Hoa Loi, Ben Cat, Tan Uyen wards and Bau Bang, Phu Giao, Bac Tan Uyen communes; the mountain cycling event is held in Dau Tieng commune - Ho Chi Minh City. This year's tournament attracts more than 250 athletes from 12 provinces and cities with strong cycling movements across the country such as: Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La, An Giang, Vinh Long, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Army, Ho Chi Minh City 1 and Ho Chi Minh City 2 (athletes are currently managed by the Binh Duong Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center).

Athletes competed in 14 men's events such as: 40km individual scoring, 40km individual timed, 70km team timed, 500m speed, cross-country relay (XCP), individual and team Olympic cross-country (XCO),... and 14 women's events such as: 30km individual scoring, 30km individual timed, 50km team timed, 90km individual and team mass start, individual downhill... Immediately after the opening ceremony, athletes enthusiastically competed in the 30km women's scoring and 40km men's scoring.

At the tournament, the terrain events were held for the first time in Dau Tieng commune, a commune far from the center of Ho Chi Minh City. It is known that before the tournament took place, the tournament organizers actively prepared with localities and related units, organized a pre-survey team to carefully review the work, and assigned detailed, methodical, and scientific tasks. With the experience and capacity of having organized many major sporting events in Ho Chi Minh City as well as Binh Duong before, the 39th National Road and Terrain Cycling Championship in 2025 promises to be professionally operated, bringing fans quality and attractive competitions.

The tournament is not only a sports activity that contributes to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people, but also an opportunity to promote tourism potential, introduce the culture, image and new appearance of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger. This year's National Road and Mountain Bike Championship is also an important opportunity for excellent racers to compete as well as help units review their forces and prepare for international competitions, including the 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand at the end of this year.
