At the final, Phuong My Chi performed two acts, including a duet with Chinese artist Hoang Linh, Lac Troi , and a solo performance of the song Mot bo dua (Chopsticks).

Many audiences commented that the Vietnamese representative performed excellently, proving her vocal ability and performance skills in the final rounds. She also invested in staging the theme and costumes when standing on stage.

However, Phuong My Chi lost to Chinese representative Chu Phi Ca by 0.8 points (she received a total score of 406.8 from the judges, while Miyuna got 411 points and Chu Phi Ca got 407.6 points).

This result created a lot of controversy on Vietnamese social networks because it was said that the contestants' abilities were not properly assessed, leading to Phuong My Chi missing the opportunity to compete in the first round to win a higher ranking. Fans felt regretful and disappointed because they expected Phuong My Chi to win the runner-up or champion.

Some comments: "With Phuong My Chi's ability, she deserves to be in the top 2"; "3rd place is too unfortunate for Phuong My Chi. So in the end she still has no chance to win the championship"; "I wonder about the unexpectedly low score of the Chopsticks performance"...

Third place is not a failure

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, media expert Hong Quang Minh said that the 0.8 point gap between Phuong My Chi and the Chinese representative in the final of Sing! Asia is a "fragile gap".

According to experts, this number does not reflect the difference in quality, but shows the equal competition between the strongest representatives in the region.

"Phuong My Chi's 3rd place at Sing! Asia does not mean that Chi is inferior, but shows that Vietnamese music , if properly developed, has a performance strategy and maintains its cultural spirit, can completely reach the top of the region.

This is a national-level victory, not a consolation prize. Phuong My Chi brings with her a clear musical perspective, a strong cultural spirit and the courage to maintain her difference against representatives from Korea, China, and Japan, which have much more systematic entertainment industry ecosystems than ours," the expert commented.

Many audiences and experts also believe that, despite losing in the final, Phuong My Chi did not fail after her proud journey at Sing! Asia.

She scored points for her dedication, seriousness, and determination to affirm her name and spread traditional culture to international friends. These are valuable victories in the hearts of fans that do not need any honorable rankings.

"After many years, we finally have a Gen Z artist standing firmly on the big stage with his own music products, not thanks to tricks, not thanks to audience sympathy.

Phuong My Chi is no longer the little girl who sang folk songs, but a young artist who is laying the first brick for a new approach: Bringing the Vietnamese spirit to the world , not by declaration, but by real musical action," concluded Mr. Hong Quang Minh.

On her personal page on the evening of July 28, Phuong My Chi said that during the recent journey, she and the DTAP group both learned new things and felt sublimated when their brainchild was sent to the audience and recognized by listeners.

Telling more about the final behind-the-scenes, Phuong My Chi said that when she sent the song Lac Troi to the organizers, they asked who wrote this song and whether it was popular in Vietnam or not.

"I am proud to tell the story of Son Tung M-TP. Thank you for allowing me to sing this song for international friends to listen to," the singer said.

Phuong My Chi also sent thanks to Chinese-Vietnamese singer Dao Tu A1J for helping her write the Chinese lyrics for Lac Troi and Chopsticks.

"You really put in so many meaningful ideas, not just translating the lyrics for Lac Troi. That helps me touch the hearts of more foreign audiences," Phuong My Chi sent to Dao Tu AJ1.
