On October 4th, Brigade 249 (Engineering Corps) deployed and tested two mobile ferries to serve the transportation needs of the people.
Pedestrians, bicycles, motorbikes, and other types of vehicles traveling from Huong Non commune, Tam Nong district to Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district, and vice versa, can cross the Red River by ferry.
People are temporarily crossing the river using specialized ferries.
According to the Engineering Command, three sections of PMP pontoons available at the site were joined together to form a 60-ton ferry.
Simultaneously, an additional iron frame was designed and installed around the area to enhance safety during civilian use.
Each ferry can carry 90 people along with 45 motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles; each trip takes 8-10 minutes and operates from 6 am to 10 pm daily.
To ensure the safety of ferry crossings on the river, on the afternoon of October 4th, the Phu Tho Provincial Police coordinated the organization of traffic diversion and regulation.
Authorities are currently patrolling and monitoring the area, prohibiting inland waterway vessels and fishing boats from entering the ferry terminal to ensure absolute safety.
