According to records, Kon Gang commune currently has 6 agricultural cooperatives with more than 200 members participating. Each cooperative has its own direction and strengths, but all play a core role in accompanying farmers. Through organizing methodical production, guiding the application of technical advances and supporting safe farming processes, cooperatives help people improve productivity and quality of agricultural products. At the same time, cooperatives also play a role as a bridge with businesses, ensuring stable output, helping farmers feel secure in investing in production, reducing risks and gradually developing a sustainable economy .
Kon Gang Agricultural and Service Business Cooperative (village 5, Kon Gang commune) is considered one of the bright spots of the locality. Although there were only 6 members contributing initial capital, by organizing production systematically and creating trust for farmers, the Cooperative has linked 185 households to participate in planting more than 320 hectares of coffee, including 64 ethnic minority households. Attracting a large number of households shows that the Cooperative is not only a place to support techniques and consume products, but also a solid foundation for people to feel secure in production, increase income and gradually develop agriculture in a sustainable direction.
Participating from the early days when Kon Gang Agricultural and Service Business Cooperative was newly established, Mr. Hoang Dinh Lung's family (village 5, Kon Gang commune) received comprehensive support. With 1.2 hectares of coffee, Mr. Lung was instructed by the Cooperative on cultivation techniques and connected to stable output.
“Previously, I fertilized based on my feelings, and the yield was unstable. Thanks to the cooperative’s technical guidance and output linkage support, my family’s coffee has grown well, reaching a yield of 4.5 tons of beans/ha. Not only that, the selling price is also transparent and stable, helping my family feel secure in production,” Mr. Lung shared.

Thanks to training in techniques for caring for and harvesting ripe fruit and using fertilizers and pesticides according to the correct process, the average yield reached about 4.5 tons of beans/ha, and the quality of the beans was also significantly improved.
"In the coming time, the cooperative will expand cooperation with potential enterprises, focus on investing in technology, capital and product consumption, gradually building a sustainable coffee production chain, helping farmers develop stably, gradually reducing fragmented production," Mr. Duong shared.
Established in 2017 and currently having 130 members, Nam Yang Agricultural and Service Cooperative (village 1, Kon Gang commune) is becoming a prominent highlight not only in the locality but also in the whole Gia Lai province. The Cooperative is currently managing more than 200 hectares of crops including 120 hectares of coffee and 80 hectares of pepper.
