The most interesting installations from Crimea's Tavrida art park

Tavrida Park in Crimea covers an area of about 30 hectares and is a place to introduce unique art installations that are renewed every year.

1. A Man Staring at the Sea - A Man Staring at the Sea

A work by artist Sergei Pauker-Bravin, erected in 2019. The statue of a man sitting looking out to sea is about 15m high, symbolizing the image of an artist finding inspiration for new works.

2. Assol

This sculpture was created in 2020, depicting Assol, the heroine of the Soviet novel “Scarlet Sails”. She is 13 meters tall and was created by the same artist as “A Man Staring at the Sea”.

The statue of a girl is placed next to a boy and when night falls, both statues are magically illuminated. This is a metaphor for a bright, happy future.

3. Masks - Masks

It is a work of the art group DAP (design for installation architecture). This work is special because it is a gateway to the art park. The two giant masks of Apollo and Venus symbolize art and beauty.

4. Stonehenge

Another work by the DAP art group. They are reminiscent of England's Stonehenge, but made from industrial drums.

5. Sun of Tavrida - Sun of Tavrida

The authors are artists Gleb Ivanov and Alexander Funtov with the help of scientists from the Radio Astronomy Observatory. They were created by installing a light that shines like a lighthouse, simulating the radiation of stars.

6. Traffic Light - Traffic Light

The DAP art group has incorporated multiple messages into this piece. The piece is meant to symbolize the intersection of many paths (or creative paths), and also magical crystals that can help people answer important questions by pressing a button installed on the lamp.

7. Tom Drum - Tom Drum

The work was inspired by a workshop at the Tavrida Arts Festival. It represents that each of us can beat a giant drum and create our own rhythm, and the sound will echo across the Black Sea. According to the authors (Cashew Creative Association), this is a metaphor for the pulse of new creative energy.

8. “Time” - Time

This is a work made under the direction of Sergei Pauker-Bravin. The dial is nine meters high. The special thing here is that they do not show time but show the entire history of the universe, from the origin of life to the present!

9. The Swallow's Nest - Swallow's Nest

The artwork was created by the DAP art group with many colors that make them extremely prominent, attracting many tourists . They are located on the edge of a rocky outcrop not far from Yalta in Crimea. This castle was created by the authors as an industrial version of the 18th century gothic style but also very modern and colorful.

10. Tower - Tower

At first glance, the work looks like an industrial art monument imitating metal structures of the early 12th century. However, in reality, the creators of the metal bars are meant to symbolize the Kemi-Obin culture of the 3rd millennium BC. Historical relics of this early Bronze Age were found by archaeologists in Crimea in 1957.
