Close-up of the North-South expressway through Gia Lai province.
In recent days, component projects of the North-South Eastern Expressway phase 2021-2025 through Gia Lai province (new) have entered the completion process.
There are 3 sections with a total length of nearly 120 km running through Gia Lai province including: Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh sections under urgent construction.
Engineers and workers work day and night to bring the routes to the finish line on time.
Along the three sections of the route, the last asphalt carpets are being laid, signaling that the opening day of the highway through Gia Lai is not far away.
Heavy machinery was operating at full capacity, and trucks carrying materials were running non-stop.
The representative of Project Management Board (PMU) 85 ( Ministry of Transport ) shared: "The unit is mobilizing maximum human and material resources. The construction site is lit up in 3 shifts, 4 shifts. The brothers are working day and night, determined to bring the project to the finish line on time."
The Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon route has a total length of more than 70km and is invested by Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Transport). Along the entire route, there are 2 main bidding packages, 11-XL and 12-XL, which are currently being implemented synchronously.
Up to now, the unit has mobilized hundreds of construction teams at the site, mainly focusing on finishing work, such as installing guardrails, median strips, lighting systems, anti-glare nets, signs, etc.
The final sections of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon route have been paved with the third layer of asphalt and all items have been completed, ensuring the section from Km25 - Km70 is open to traffic on August 19.
For the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh section, the length is 61.7km (excluding the section coinciding with Cu Mong tunnel), of which the section passing through Gia Lai province is about 19.6km long and the section passing through Dak Lak is about 42.1km long; starting point is at the intersection of National Highway 19, connecting with Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway in An Nhon Nam ward, Gia Lai province.
At the construction site of Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh section, the construction atmosphere is urgent, contractors focus on human resources, machinery, and organize construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams" to ensure progress.
The highlight of this section is the 575m long Son Trieu tunnel which has been basically completed. Units are installing equipment inside the tunnel such as lights, fans, etc.
Workers are working hard to lay the final layer of asphalt, reinforce the slope to prevent landslides, and construct bridges at intersections, urgently working to complete the 19.6 km section through Gia Lai province before August 19.
When completed, the North-South Expressway sections passing through Gia Lai province will not only shorten travel time and reduce the load on National Highway 1A, but also open up new development space for the province's socio-economic development. Gia Lai province will become an important traffic junction, connecting the key economic region of the Central region with the Central Highlands provinces and the whole country.
The "final" days at the North-South Expressway construction site through Gia Lai are gradually completing the final stages. "The consensus and determination of the entire political system and the tireless efforts of thousands of workers and engineers at the construction site are key factors helping Gia Lai province overcome all difficulties. The expressway is not only a road, but also the blood vessel, the hope of an entire land", Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee shared.
