Trust and expectations sent to the Provincial Trade Union Congress

The first Provincial Trade Union Congress, for the 2025-2030 term, is not only a broad political activity but also a forum for trade union officials, members, and workers to express their thoughts, beliefs, expectations, and specific proposals, with the hope that trade union activities in the new period will become more practical and effective.

The first Provincial Trade Union Congress, for the 2025-2030 term, is not only a broad political activity but also a forum for trade union officials, members, and workers to express their thoughts, beliefs, expectations, and specific proposals, with the hope that trade union activities in the new period will become more practical and effective.

Ms. Ho Thi Truc Ly - Chairperson of the Trade Union of Dream Vinh Long Co., Ltd.: Expectations for strong innovation in the trade union organization.

I believe in and expect even stronger and more substantive reforms from the trade union organization. This is not only about reforming the content and methods of operation to suit the new context, but also about a profound transformation in how we listen to, understand, and stand alongside workers in each specific situation.

What workers hope for is that the trade union will continue to pay attention to and practically care for the material and spiritual lives of its members. This care needs to be demonstrated through specific programs and timely actions, so that each member truly feels that the trade union is a reliable support and a voice representing their legitimate rights.

Furthermore, trade unions need to more clearly promote their role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers; participate in dialogue and make proposals to businesses to fully implement all regulations and policies for workers, contributing to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.

On that foundation, patriotic emulation movements will continue to spread widely, becoming a driving force to encourage each individual to work harder, be more creative, and be more committed to the trade union organization.

Ms. Thi Thi Kieu Tien - Chairperson of the Trade Union of Sungkyung Textile Vina Co., Ltd.: Focus on training and developing skills and professional expertise for grassroots trade union officials.

As a trade union official at a newly established grassroots trade union, I have many thoughts, concerns, and expectations stemming from the practical realities of grassroots operations. While the new trade union is enthusiastic and dedicated, its officials still lack the skills and experience to organize movements, represent, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

Many new tasks, especially in propaganda, dialogue, negotiation, and the implementation of models to improve the lives of union members, are still causing confusion. Therefore, I hope that the Trade Union will pay more attention to training and developing the skills and expertise of grassroots trade union officials, with practical programs that are closely aligned with actual needs.

In response to the need to promote the application of information technology and digital transformation in trade union activities, I hope that trade unions will strengthen training and guidance activities on digital skills suitable for each target group; build user-friendly, simple, and easily accessible digital platforms and applications, helping workers conveniently access information, register for activities, submit suggestions, and quickly access policies and regulations.

In particular, digital transformation must truly serve the workers, with union members at its center.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Huu - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Furukawa Automotive Systems Co., Ltd., Vinh Long, Vietnam: Promoting activities to care for the practical interests of union members.

I hope the Trade Union will strengthen its activities to care for practical interests, and in particular, the Trade Union needs to continue to pay closer attention to protecting legitimate rights and interests, especially those directly related to occupational safety, health, wages, salaries, and policies.

In particular, policies for female workers need to be given due attention, from maternity leave and childcare to suitable working conditions.

Caring for workers in difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work-related accidents or occupational diseases needs to be implemented regularly and promptly, so that every union member feels the companionship and support of the trade union organization during the most difficult times.

In addition, I also expect the Trade Union to continue coordinating and advising on the implementation of social housing projects, contributing to gradually realizing the goal of "housing and welfare for union members and workers"; the Trade Union and relevant agencies to research and develop a system of nurseries, kindergartens, and primary schools suitable to the specific working hours of workers; and at the same time, to have a mechanism for teachers to work overtime and on Saturdays to meet the childcare needs of workers.

Another issue of concern is the remuneration system for trade union officials. Currently, the majority of trade union officials simultaneously fulfill their professional duties at their respective units and undertake trade union work, shouldering numerous responsibilities and facing significant pressure, yet their compensation remains limited.

With the increasing workload and higher demands, the common aspiration is to consider more support policies and improved benefits for trade union officials in the future, so that they can dedicate themselves to their work with peace of mind.

Ms. Le Hoang Quyen, a member of the Trade Union at Vinh Long University of Technology and Education: The emulation movement is more closely linked to professional tasks.

In the context of higher education undergoing a strong transformation towards innovation, autonomy, and continuous improvement in training quality, the staff, lecturers, and employees urgently need a reliable support system from the trade union organization.

This involves not only participating in policy-making and social critique, but also timely and effective monitoring of the implementation of regulations and policies directly related to the rights and interests of workers.

Trade unions need to continue to pay attention to and promote cultural, artistic, and sports activities, fostering interaction and connection, creating spaces for sharing and rejuvenating the workforce, contributing to improving the spiritual life, fostering solidarity and unity, and strengthening the trust of union members in the trade union organization.

In particular, it is expected that patriotic emulation movements within universities will be reformed in both content and form, more closely linked to professional tasks, scientific research, innovation, and community service.

Thus, each movement not only serves as encouragement and motivation, but truly becomes a driving force that awakens the sense of responsibility, love for the profession, and a desire to contribute among young intellectuals.
