Efforts to provide sufficient and safe electricity for Vung Ang Economic Zone

Along with infrastructure, ensuring sufficient power supply for production and business activities of enterprises plays an important role in attracting investment in Vung Ang Economic Zone. Accordingly, in recent times, the electricity sector has implemented synchronous solutions to improve power supply capacity to meet the increasing production and business needs of investors.

The electricity industry is making efforts to upgrade the power grid infrastructure in Vung Ang Economic Zone.

Currently, Vung Ang Economic Zone is supplied with electricity from the 110kV Vung Ang Transformer Station with the capacity of transformer T1 being 63MVA through lines 375E18.5, 373E18.5, 381E18.5, 383E18.5 and the parallel line 479E18.5-481E18.5.

Mr. Pham Viet Thang - Deputy Technical Director of Ha Tinh Electricity Company said: "The transformer station supplying electricity to Vung Ang Economic Zone is still ensuring demand, however, the 176T500HT power line from Thach Dien 500kV transformer station (Nam Dien commune, Thach Ha) to the economic zone is overloaded. Especially, during hot weather, the load on this line has reached 100%. This poses many difficulties for the electricity industry in ensuring energy security. To solve this problem, the key is to soon complete and operate the Vung Ang 220kV transformer station constructed by the National Power Transmission Corporation".

According to records, currently, officers and workers of the National Power Transmission Corporation are highly focused on constructing 220kV lines connecting from Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant to the 220kV Transformer Station of the Vung Ang 220kV Transformer Station Project and making connections.

The 220kV transformer station of the 220kV Vung Ang transformer station project and the connection have been basically completed and ready to be energized.

Mr. Bui Xuan Thai - Deputy Head of Technical Department of Central Power Project Management Board (National Power Transmission Corporation) informed: "The 220kV Vung Ang Transformer Station and Connection Project has 2 components: the 220kV transformer station and the power connection line system from Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant to the transformer station. Up to now, the transformer station component is basically completed and ready for energization. For the 220kV line, there are currently 3/45 foundation columns under construction, and 5/45 pole positions are being erected. Currently, in addition to completing the remaining foundation columns and poles, the unit is focusing on 5 wire pulling teams to soon complete the project and energize as soon as possible, serving the production and business activities of enterprises in Vung Ang Economic Zone".

The National Power Transmission Corporation is urgently constructing a 220kV transmission line system connecting electricity from Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant to the 220kV transformer station.

The 220kV Vung Ang Transformer Station and Connection Project is of utmost importance in enhancing the power supply capacity for the Vung Ang Economic Zone. When the project is completed and energized with 4 110kV feeders, the power supply radius from the 110kV Vung Ang Transformer Station will decrease from 68km to only about 3.6km, and the transmission capacity on the Vung Ang Transformer Station power supply line will increase 3.2 times compared to the present.

At the same time, Ky Anh Power Branch also regularly organizes maintenance and repair of power lines, replaces damaged spare parts to ensure that the power source is always operated smoothly. The branch has applied many measures to repair the power grid, especially repairing 22kV hot power to ensure that the power source for production and business at enterprises in Vung Ang Economic Zone is not interrupted.

Ha Tinh Electricity Company organizes maintenance and repair of power lines, replaces damaged parts to ensure the power source is always operated smoothly.

According to the plan, in the coming time, many investment projects in Vung Ang Economic Zone will be completed and put into operation, so in addition to the National Power Transmission Corporation completing the Vung Ang 220kV Transformer Station Project and connection, Ha Tinh Electricity Company has also had solutions to invest in upgrading the power grid infrastructure system.

“Along with strengthening inspection and control to ensure the quality of existing lines, the unit will reroute the basic lines to eliminate lines that frequently have problems to ensure better voltage quality. At the same time, the Northern Power Corporation has recorded 2 investment portfolios, including installing a 40MVA T2 transformer at the 110kV Vung Ang station and implementing a project to renovate and convert the operating voltage from 35kV to 22kV for the 383E18.5 line to supply power to the automobile manufacturing plant. When the projects are implemented and completed, they will meet the growing production and business needs of enterprises,” added Mr. Pham Viet Thang - Deputy Technical Director of Ha Tinh Power Company.
