The number of visitors is still modest.
India is a very promising market, a necessary addition to Khanh Hoa's international tourism sector, aligning with the province's strategy of diversifying its tourist sources. Therefore, in recent years, the province has organized many activities to promote and open up the Indian tourist market, such as: organizing a Khanh Hoa tourism promotion conference in India; welcoming famtrip delegations from Indian tourism businesses to survey Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism products... Most recently, in early October 2025, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, in coordination with Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited, welcomed a famtrip delegation of 42 guests, including leading wedding organizers from India, to survey wedding tourism in Khanh Hoa. The famtrip delegation surveyed many 5-star resorts to discuss cooperation in organizing weddings and high-end tours for Indian tourists. Ms. Nguyen Huong Thuy, representative of Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited, said that the famtrip delegation of Indian tourism businesses highly appreciated the potential of organizing wedding tourism tours for Indian tourists in Khanh Hoa, but so far no company has expressed interest in organizing weddings for Indian tourists in Khanh Hoa.

The number of Indian tourists visiting Khanh Hoa is modest compared to the total number of Indian tourists visiting Vietnam. Statistics from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration show that in the first 10 months of 2025, nearly 575,000 Indian tourists visited Vietnam, an increase of 45.7% compared to the same period in 2024; while Khanh Hoa only attracted about 6,020 tourists, a growth of 4.4%. The main reasons for the low number of Indian tourists choosing Khanh Hoa are the lack of direct flights and the low level of awareness of Khanh Hoa tourism in the Indian market. “Indian tourism businesses highly appreciate the tourism potential of Khanh Hoa, but the lack of direct flights has almost completely closed the door to attracting Indian tourists to Khanh Hoa. Indian tourists tend to travel for 5-7 days and like to visit many places. Having to transit to Nha Trang becomes a major obstacle. Therefore, instead of coming to Khanh Hoa, they choose other destinations with more convenient connections,” shared Mr. Le Dai Hai - General Manager of Ana Mandara Cam Ranh.
We still have to keep "knocking on doors".
The lack of direct flights and low destination awareness have made it difficult for Khanh Hoa tourism to attract Indian tourists. To unlock this massive market, while waiting for direct flights, Khanh Hoa tourism needs to be more proactive in approaching the Indian market, gradually building the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa as a destination in the minds of Indian tourists. Mr. Phan Dinh Thao - General Director of HTS International Travel Company, said: "Khanh Hoa tourism must implement policies to support and persuade travel agencies to include Nha Trang in tour itineraries for Indian tourists flying to Ho Chi Minh City or Da Nang. Over time, Indian tourists will develop a desire to visit Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa."

In the long term, to attract Indian tourists, Khanh Hoa's tourism sector must strengthen communication and promotion in major Indian cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Hyderabad to introduce tourism products, enhance digital communication, and develop specific tourism products for the Indian market, especially wedding tourism. During their survey visits to Khanh Hoa, representatives from many Indian travel businesses assessed that Khanh Hoa has the potential to organize wedding tours for wealthy Indian clients, especially 5-day, 4-night weddings with 400-500 guests. "If we can organize lavish weddings for Indian billionaires, Khanh Hoa's tourism will gain significant recognition and attract the attention of Indian tourists," said Mr. Vineet Jain, a member of the Indian travel business delegation.
According to Indian tourism experts, to achieve this, Khanh Hoa's tourism industry should not only invite famtrip groups for surveys, but also regularly connect with businesses specializing in organizing tourism services for wealthy Indian clients; connect with airlines and destinations... and offer preferential policies to attract Indian travel agencies to organize weddings and high-end tours for the wealthy, thereby creating a boost for the Indian tourist market. Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen training for personnel serving the Indian market and prepare the necessary infrastructure to accommodate large groups from this country.
The Indian tourist market is a "gold mine" that many major tourism centers are focusing on exploiting. According to Mr. Pham Minh Nhut, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, to unlock this market, the Khanh Hoa tourism industry needs to take bolder steps and more decisive actions to remove bottlenecks in air routes and create events to stimulate demand. This is a strategic investment for the future of Khanh Hoa tourism, so as not to depend on a few traditional markets but to aim for a diverse, sustainable, and potentially lucrative tourist market.
