Care even when business is difficult
Last June, nearly 350 union members and employees whose birthdays were in the month were organized by Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company and the company's Union. Each union member and employee was given a gift worth 300,000 VND, including a voucher for a purchase at the company store, a cash gift and a birthday cake. They also participated in games and musical performances to celebrate their birthdays. This is an initiative to care for the spiritual life of employees, which has just been put into practice by the union and the company since this June and will be held monthly every year for all nearly 5,000 union members and employees.
Previously, Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company and the Company's Trade Union also organized a meeting with cadres and workers in difficult circumstances. At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, General Director and Mr. Nguyen Tien Hau, Chairman of the Company's Trade Union kindly encouraged and shared with the union members and workers. At the same time, 88 gifts, each worth 1 million VND in cash, were presented to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. These union members and workers were also given priority by the Company's Trade Union to be introduced to the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union to give gifts on the occasion of launching the Workers' Month this year. Ms. Phan Thi Phuong Lan, a worker in the sewing department, shared that this is a meaningful gift in terms of spirit, adding motivation to help me feel confident, to rise up in life, to better complete the assigned tasks and to feel secure in working with the company.
There were times when Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company faced difficulties due to the impact of general inflation, businesses lacked orders, the market was narrowed, but the company still prioritized taking care of stabilizing the lives of all employees. Mr. Nguyen Tien Hau recalled that in 2023, there was a time when the company had to accept difficult, small, and retail orders, even accepting low-priced orders, nearly 50% lower than before so that the work of employees was not interrupted. The company still ensured welfare regimes, salaries and bonuses, and paid full insurance. During the recent Lunar New Year, in addition to giving 2 months of basic salary to each employee, the company also spent more than 5 billion VND giving Tet gifts and organizing shuttle buses to take workers in the commune back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet.
Capacity building training
Not only taking care of the material and spiritual life, Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company also focuses on training and improving the capacity of employees. In addition to sending staff to participate in training courses, the company has also issued a decision to assign members of the executive board to be responsible for training, guiding, and mentoring each individual in their work to improve their professional capacity and management capacity. Not only focusing on training the next generation of management staff, at Hue Textile and Garment, all employees are trained, mentored to improve their skills, and periodically trained with the motto "good at one thing, know many things", improve productivity, quality, and quickly adapt to changes in the market. The company also develops a competency framework and organizes competency assessments to identify employees' competencies that have not been achieved in order to develop appropriate training programs.
In 2023 and 2024, Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company was the only enterprise in the province to consecutively receive the title of "Outstanding Enterprise for Workers" organized by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry. To achieve this title, the company overcame many strict criteria. The company created a safe and friendly working environment for employees. Always complying with the law, fully and correctly meeting the regulations on the Labor Law, Social Insurance Law, Trade Union Law... Employees are fully equipped with personal protective equipment, ensuring safety in work and production, are given the opportunity to visit and study at domestic and foreign units, and are paid social insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance and combined personal insurance immediately after signing the labor contract. Employees receive the 14th month salary and are promptly rewarded and encouraged with material and spiritual rewards when making outstanding contributions. More importantly, employees are trained, practice vocational skills, are treated fairly and given conditions to assert and develop themselves.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, General Director of Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company, said that employees are the direct force that creates economic value, nurtures corporate culture, and contributes to the overall growth and development of the enterprise. Employees are also the driving force to promote innovation and create competitive advantages for the enterprise. Therefore, caring for, protecting, and creating long-term benefits for employees, building stable, sustainable, and progressive labor relations are also factors that help the company develop sustainably. "Receiving appreciation, employees are also fully aware of their responsibility for the overall development of the enterprise. Every year, employees contribute to the company many initiatives that benefit the company tens of billions of VND," said Mr. Nguyen Van Phong.
