Nong Thuy Hang visited the people of Sao Ha, where the film "Tet in Hell Village" was filmed.

Recently, Miss Nong Thuy Hang visited Sao Ha village, Kho Cho hamlet, Van Chai commune, Dong Van district, Ha Giang province. The village was chosen as the setting for the horror film "Tet in Hell village" premiered at the end of October 2023 and "Soul eater", a follow-up film premiered in December 2023. Just like in the film, Sao Ha village is isolated from the outside world .

Miss Nong Thuy Hang said she traveled from the center of Ha Giang city early in the morning through the Quan Ba Heaven Gate of Co Tien Mountain to Doc Tham Ma and turned into Van Chai commune. "I held my breath as I sat behind a local's motorbike, traveling nearly 3km, with a cliff on one side and an abyss on the other leading to 'Dia Nguc village'. There were sections of this road that seemed to meander through the clouds and there was not a soul in sight.

I was amazed when Sao Ha village appeared before my eyes in the misty fog. The ancient houses, discolored by time, made of earthen walls, yin-yang tiled roofs, sturdy stone fences, facing each other, deep under the shadow of the great forest. The quiet and somewhat magical space attracted me," Nong Thuy Hang expressed.

Miss International Friendship 2023 runner-up shared: "As a native of Ha Giang and a fan of the movie 'Tet in Hell Village', I was determined to arrange my schedule to visit Sao Ha village. In particular, knowing that the poverty rate here is nearly 94%, it urged me to make this trip soon."

Miss Nong Thuy Hang visited and witnessed the deprived and difficult life of the people in Sao Ha village. She listened to the stories imbued with sediment related to Hang Phi, the custom of worshipping the God of the Earth and the God of the Kitchen... listening to the sound of the Mong flute, immersing herself in the peaceful, slow pace of life, completely separate from the noise outside.

Nong Thuy Hang said: "Previously, Sao Ha was a village of 3 no's because it had no electricity, no water, no wifi. Almost no one knew about this place because it was so isolated. However, by 2022, Sao Ha village now has electricity, water and wifi, partly thanks to the film crew moving there to serve the work, and partly thanks to the attention of the government and the support of benefactors."

Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2022 was moved by the muddy dreams of the children and the hospitality and kindness of the people. In particular, Nong Thuy Hang gave practical and meaningful gifts including cash, warm clothes, rice, noodles, cooking oil, fish sauce, etc. to poor families in Sao Ha village. The beauty queen wished to bring Tet early to the people of Dia Nguc village.

In addition, during her business trip to Ha Giang, Nong Thuy Hang participated in the program "Warm winter in the highlands" and "Zero-dong market" in Bac Me district, Ha Giang province with meaningful activities such as visiting households in difficult circumstances.

Nong Thuy Hang was born in 1999 in Ha Giang, is of Tay ethnic group. She was crowned Miss Ethnic Vietnam in July 2022.
