People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi and My Uyen promote the book "Ho Chi Minh City's Cai Luong Stage from 1975 to 2025"
The Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association has just completed and will officially launch the research work "Ho Chi Minh City Cai Luong Theater from 1975 to 2025" on the morning of July 8 at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street.
This is a project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. A great effort to look back on the half-century development of the typical art form of the South in Ho Chi Minh City and is the achievement of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, term 8.
The work, edited by People's Artist Tran Minh Ngoc - People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, gathers more than 100 in-depth articles, spanning 9 major groups of topics: from theory - criticism, author - director, performance - music to training, communication and organization of reformed theater in Ho Chi Minh City after the country's reunification until 2025.

"After completing the book 'Saigon Reformed Opera 1955–1975', we continued to carry out the next phase, considering it a tribute and recognition to generations of Ho Chi Minh City reformed opera artists" - People's Artist Tran Minh Ngoc shared.
This is one of the few works with the thickest and most complete system of documents about the Ho Chi Minh City reformed theater from 1975 to the present, with more than 200 color and black and white documentary images, accompanied by clear analysis from the theater practice of each period.

People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, said: "We not only want to record memories but also open up a direction for research, training and development of Cai Luong in a more serious way. This is a work that leaves an academic mark and is also a necessary document for future generations of artists. It may still be incomplete, but it is considered an open work for artists and researchers to continue to contribute to improve the book when it is reprinted."
In addition to professional writers, the project also has the participation of many contemporary artists who are directly working in the profession, providing a multi-dimensional, objective and close view of the reality of today's stage life.
People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, commented: "The book is a meaningful gift for young artists. Cai luong still has a place to live, still has an audience, if we know how to renew and preserve its core values. The book is the dedicated work of the Executive Committee of the 8th term and is a meaningful work to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification."

According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, the official launch of the book will be held on the morning of July 8 at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street. The program is expected to have the participation of many famous cai luong artists, researchers and theater lovers. This is also an opportunity for generations of artists to exchange and share about the past journey and the upcoming direction of cai luong in modern urban cultural life.
The Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association hopes that in the future, the book will continue to be supplemented, reprinted and become a reference document for research, teaching, management and creativity in the field of traditional arts, especially Cai Luong - a typical form of Southern culture.
