However, public opinion was stirred when 3 artists were "absent" from the list of People's Artists this time: Meritorious Artist Chi Trung, Meritorious Artist Tien Quang (Quang Teo) and Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan.
Meritorious Artist Chi Trung "failed" the People's Artist title 3 times
Meritorious Artist Chi Trung was born in 1961. He is a very familiar face to the audience and has left his mark with many roles during his 45 years of career. Chi Trung's famous roles on stage include Romeo in "Romeo and Juliet", Don-sut in "The 9th Oath", and Ta Quay in "The Game of Life".
He served as Director of the Youth Theater for the 2017-2022 term. In 2022, Chi Trung announced his retirement.
Meritorious Artist Chi Trung was absent from the list of People's Artists three times.

However, the competent authority did not receive the application from artist Chi Trung.
Recently, in the list of 119 artists signed by the President to be awarded the title of People's Artist, Chi Trung was absent, even though his name was among the 136 Meritorious Artists previously submitted to the State Council.
Meritorious Artist Quang Teo lacks 1 vote
Many artists were on the list submitted to the State Council but were not on the list signed by the President to receive awards in the first and second batches, including Meritorious Artist Quang Teo.

Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan, born in 1951, has been widely known on Vietnamese television since the 1980s. Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan's role as nun Huyen Trang in "Saigon Special Forces" became one of the most classic characters in the country's film industry.
