Meritorious Artist Lê Thiện "tests the mettle" of young actors in "The Drama Village".

On August 10th, Meritorious Artist Le Thien participated in a class on "Aesthetics" at the "Drama Village" theater of Khang Entertainment Company.

Meritorious Artist Lê Thiện has shared many valuable lessons with young actors.

Here, 15 actors from the advanced training course 1, coached by director Vu Xuan Trang and artist Hoang Thy, participated in three improvisational short plays with three very impressive stories: "Teddy Bear," "Father's Day," and "Mistakes."

Meritorious Artist Le Thien said: "They are all professional actors, and after the basic course, they participate in the advanced class. And I accompany them to bring the art of 'improvisation' in stage acting closer to their understanding and practice. It's very enjoyable because from these classes, I feel younger in my profession."

The young actors of the "Drama Village" theater group had an interesting and meaningful field trip with Meritorious Artist Le Thien.

She divided the actors into three groups, having them perform a play based on a theme, and then she would make a surprise appearance. Using this method, she previously taught at the Hong Van Theatre and the Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Association.

From unexpected roles, she improvised to perform alongside young actors, then organized dialogues and analyses to enhance the artistic effectiveness of stories revolving around topics of interest to young people such as: gender; school violence; online safety; cultural behavior in public; advertising clean products; tracing false rumors…

"Through these extracurricular activities, I hope that young actors will not only improve their acting skills but also hone their sensitivity and adaptability to embodying roles close to contemporary life. I'm pleased that the young actors of the 'Drama Village' theater are very perceptive, observant of life, and have a foundational knowledge stemming from their eagerness to learn," - Meritorious Artist Le Thien assessed.

She was even more delighted to learn that, in addition to performing on stage for the audience, the actors in the Advanced class also had the opportunity to attend art programs and new plays at professional theaters. "This is something that young actors today must do, because they must put themselves in the audience's shoes to understand what they need from them and how to creatively attract them to theater," shared Meritorious Artist Le Thien.

Actress Yen Nhi (from the Xom Kich theater) believes that the interesting improvisational lessons have been very meaningful in equipping actors with knowledge about social issues.

"Through impromptu theatrical performances, without scripts or directors, simply discussed around the table and then performed on stage, we were able to better understand the role of an actor: to live authentically with our own feelings on stage."

"Only then can she fully immerse herself in the role and be loved by the public. She is a shining example in artistic work for us to follow," said actress Yen Nhi.

Meritorious Artist Lê Thiện shared many lessons learned from her experiences in various roles. The role of Sister Sứ in the play "Hòn đất" (The Land) is her favorite, and for this role, she was awarded the title of Emulation Soldier at the ministerial level by the Ministry of Culture. Although originally a cải lương (traditional Vietnamese opera) actress, thanks to diligent training, she has been highly praised by professionals for her ability to embody many difficult roles, her diverse acting style, and her constant exploration and creation of new acting techniques on stage and in film.
