Vietnamese female player honored after match with Australia

(Dan Tri) - Midfielder Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy of the Vietnamese women's team was voted the best player of the match despite losing 1-2 to Australia in the semi-finals of the 2025 AFF Women's Cup on the evening of August 16 at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong).

The midfielder said: “I would like to thank everyone for encouraging the players. Right now, the whole team is very sad because we did not play a good match. We did not start well and the coach mentioned that many times.

This defeat will be a lesson for the Vietnamese girls to bravely move forward. Personally, I will try to regain my spirit to prepare best for the final match. The goal now will be the Bronze Medal."

After the match, Bich Thuy and the girls of the Vietnamese team went to the stands, where thousands of fans gathered, to express their gratitude and thanks to those who "lit the fire" during the 90 minutes of the match.

The defeat against Australia was a way for coach Mai Duc Chung and his team to recognize the strengths that need to be promoted and the limitations that need to be overcome.
