Authorities warn that the high water levels of rivers are likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, mid-river flats, and riverside areas with a depth of 0.2 - 0.5m, and in some places deeper than 0.5m; the flooding may last 2 - 3 days. People need to be on guard against the risk of landslides and erosion of riverbanks and the risk of insecurity for dykes.

Based on the actual water level, the Hanoi City Civil Defense Command has issued a level III flood alert on the Bui, Tich, Nhue, Cau, and Ca Lo rivers; a level I flood alert on the Red River at An Canh; and at the same time requested units, localities, and people to strictly follow regulations when there is a flood alert.

The Northern Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that on the morning of October 2, Hanoi will have less clouds and sunshine, with the highest temperature of 30-33 degrees Celsius. This weather condition in Hanoi will last until October 5. People in the capital can take advantage of this weather to dry clothes and belongings, and quickly harvest rice and crops. From October 6, due to the influence of a tropical depression that has strengthened into a storm and entered the East Sea, Hanoi will have widespread thunderstorms.
