The decision was made in the context of prolonged rain and floods causing many rivers from Gia Lai, Dak Lak to Khanh Hoa to simultaneously exceed alert level 3, even exceeding historical levels in some places, causing traffic disruption and seriously affecting aviation activities.
According to reports, the roads leading to the port were isolated. Some important technical items of the port were flooded; the power system was completely cut off to ensure safety. Tuy Hoa Airport is urgently implementing measures to preserve and reinforce equipment, minimizing risks to flight operations, people and property.
On the same day, in the face of the continuous heavy rains in the Central region, the Ministry of Construction requested its affiliated units to maintain the highest response status. The Ministry of Construction emphasized the need to proactively deploy plans to prevent, respond to and overcome the consequences of floods, especially in areas at risk of landslides, flash floods and inundation; ensuring that they are not passive in the face of bad situations.
The assigned units coordinate closely with localities, prioritizing ensuring people's safety; at the same time, quickly repairing traffic infrastructure, especially routes serving rescue and relief.
Checking flooded areas and arranging forces and equipment on standby are required to be carried out continuously to ensure timely drainage and smooth urban traffic.
