On the morning of October 30, in Sa Nam village (Vinh Long commune, Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri ), a motorbike shop in Ho Xa town checked motorbikes for free for people in flooded areas.
Over the past 3 days, 600 households in Vinh Long commune have been deeply flooded. In addition to the damage to houses and property, the motorbike was submerged, leaving people without any means of transportation.
Starting from supporting the people, this motorbike shop mobilized 5 mechanics and 5 employees, along with supplies and spare parts to Sa Nam village to support the people.
Motorcycles are thoroughly inspected, the fuel tank, engine, air filter, electrical system, etc. are cleaned if water gets in. This shop offers free labor for customers, and replacement parts are at cost price. For vehicles that are too damaged to be repaired on-site, the staff will transport them to the shop for free.
Ms. Le Thi Tuyet - shop manager - said that repairing flooded motorbikes costs the most in terms of labor, because it requires careful rinsing many times. "The shop can give people a bottle of oil, but that doesn't solve the problem of flooded motorbikes," Ms. Tuyet said.
In the morning, this shop received more than 100 motorbikes from people.

Bringing his car in for repair, Mr. Le Ba Tri said the water was 40cm deep into his house, and the yard was even deeper. "That day, the water rose so quickly in 2-3 hours that there was no time to move any property, and tons of rice were submerged," Mr. Tri said.
His motorbike got wet and wouldn't start. After "examining", the staff changed the air filter and oil for Mr. Tri's motorbike.
"The store's support is so good that people have a means of transportation, otherwise their cars won't start and they don't have a car to take them to town for repairs," said Mr. Tri.
Mr. Tran Quoc Luong - Chairman of Vinh Long Commune People's Committee - said that the floodwaters submerged 600 households in the entire commune. Currently, the water has receded, and people are cleaning up the mud and cleaning their houses to stabilize their lives.
The rain caused by storm Tra Mi flooded more than 2,500 houses in Quang Tri, mainly in Vinh Linh district. In addition, there were some other damages to traffic, agriculture , riverbank erosion...
