Raising fish in the fields during the flood season brings a profit of over 30 million VND/ha.

(HG) - In recent years, the flood season is no longer an extreme natural phenomenon but a source of income for people from raising fish in the fields, instead of growing the third rice crop which has low profits.

People in Hamlet 7, Vi Thang Commune, are excited to harvest fish raised in the fields.

With many years of experience in raising fish in rice fields, Mr. Tran Van Huynh, in Hamlet 7, Vi Thang Commune, Vi Thuy District, said that this year he released 9,000 snakehead fish and 30kg of fingerlings on a total area of 3ha. He is very happy because the price of fish this year is about 3,000 VND/kg higher than last year. Currently, carp and silver carp are purchased by traders at 13,000 VND/kg, after deducting all expenses, the profit is more than 30 million VND/ha.
