An Giang: Arrested a subject transporting 1,100 packs of cigarettes of unknown origin

On the morning of July 30, units under the Border Guard Command of An Giang province arrested a subject carrying 1,100 packs of various cigarettes on the Chau Doc border.

At 6:00 a.m. on July 30, the Special Task Force of the Professional Department presided over and coordinated with Vinh Nguon Border Guard Station to carry out patrolling and protecting the area.

Arriving at the Thot Not canal area, in Vinh Chanh 3 hamlet, Chau Doc ward, the working group discovered 2 subjects carrying many nylon bags from the boat shell onto a motorbike.

Identifying this as an act of transporting smuggled goods, the working group approached and arrested one subject, the remaining subject fled to the other side of the border.

The subject and evidence were arrested by border guards.

During the fight, the arrested subject revealed his name as Pham Hong Cong, born in 1973, residing in Vinh Chanh 3 Hamlet, Chau Doc Ward. In addition to the above amount of cigarettes, the border guards temporarily seized 1 tire, 1 tire machine, 1 motorbike... The total value of the evidence is about 18 million VND.

The working group handed over the subjects, exhibits and vehicles to Vinh Nguon Border Guard Station. continue to investigate, verify and handle according to procedures and regulations of law.
