(HG) - According to statistics from the agricultural sector of Vi Thuy district, this year, farmers have raised fish in more than 1,500 hectares of rice fields, an increase of about 25% compared to last year. Currently, over 50% of the area has been harvested, with an average yield of more than 2 tons/ha.

Mr. Le Van Het, in Hamlet 2, Vinh Trung Commune, has been raising fish in the fields for more than 10 years. He said that after harvesting the summer-autumn rice crop and waiting for the flood to rise, his family used a net to raise fish in their 12 hectares of rice fields. This season, he raised 70kg of silver carp. After more than 4 months of raising, he harvested nearly 2 tons of fish, with a selling price of 13,500 VND/kg. After deducting all expenses, the profit was more than 10 million VND.
