On the morning of January 8, in Hanoi , Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung chaired the Conference to deploy the decision on personnel work. Attending on the side of the Ministry of Information and Communications were Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung, representatives of the leaders of the units under the Ministry. On the side of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, there were Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Do Huu Huy, Vice Chairman of the Committee. Accordingly, the Minister of Information and Communications received and appointed Mr. Ho Duc Thang - Director of the Information Center (State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises) to hold the position of Deputy Director of the National Digital Transformation Agency (Ministry of Information and Communications) and assigned the authority of the Director of the National Digital Transformation Agency from January 1, 2024. Previously, Mr. Nguyen Phu Tien - Deputy Director was assigned to operate the National Digital Transformation Agency (from April 28, 2023).

Mr. Ho Duc Thang was born in 1983, has a PhD in computer science from the UK, and a master's degree in public administration from the US. Mr. Thang has nearly 13 years of experience working in the IT field, nearly 9 years as a department-level leader, including 7 years as deputy department head and equivalent, and nearly 2 years as head. At the State Capital Management Committee, Mr. Ho Duc Thang is considered a well-trained official, with professional qualifications and experience in the IT field, with a strong will, good compliance with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, with discipline and responsibility in maintaining internal solidarity, with the ability to lead, manage, unite, and gather officials and employees in the unit. Congratulating the Acting Director of the National Digital Transformation Agency, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung highly appreciated the fact that Mr. Ho Duc Thang is a chief officer but is willing to accept the task of being a deputy assigned to act as chief in a very difficult and stressful position. "This is a valuable quality" - the Minister affirmed! The Minister of Information and Communications hopes that Mr. Ho Duc Thang will maximize his strengths, knowledge, and experience to successfully complete the assigned tasks together with the leadership of the National Digital Transformation Agency. Minister Nguyen Manh Hung also thanked the Party Executive Committee and the leadership of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises for creating conditions for Mr. Ho Duc Thang to work at the Ministry of Information and Communications.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh - Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, Mr. Ho Duc Thang was born into a family with a tradition of science and is a well-trained official. "With the viewpoint of assigning difficult tasks for his colleagues to develop of Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, this is a huge challenge for comrade Ho Duc Thang. I believe that with his efforts, struggles and family tradition, comrade Thang will complete the assigned tasks", Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh said. Sharing at the appointment ceremony, Acting Director of the National Digital Transformation Agency Ho Duc Thang thanked the Party Committee of the Ministry of Information and Communications and Minister Nguyen Manh Hung for entrusting him with the important responsibility. According to Mr. Ho Duc Thang, digital transformation is becoming an important driving force, a historic opportunity for socio -economic development in the new era. The new position at the Digital Transformation Agency is a big challenge, so he will need to learn and improve a lot to effectively direct and operate the large workload of the Agency. Mr. Ho Duc Thang expressed his wish to continue to maintain and strengthen the spirit of solidarity, unity, discipline and responsibility of the Department's staff to create an effective working environment, putting the common interest first, actively sharing information, sincerely supporting and coordinating between individuals and between units under the Department. On behalf of the Department of National Digital Transformation, Ms. Nguyen Quoc Hien, Deputy Director of the Department, welcomed Mr. Ho Duc Thang to join the common home of the Department. She expressed her belief that as a person highly appreciated by the Ministry's leaders, well-trained, with professional qualifications and strong will, Mr. Thang, together with the Department's leaders and all the Department's staff, will excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Ministry's leaders.
